If you were to chose the name would you go for Rachel or Rachael? And is it one of those names that if you say too much it sounds weird?

Rachel it is my name and so I know from experience this is the way everyone automatically spells it so if you go for the other one she will always have to say "Rachael with an a e" and I bet that would get pretty boring also it doesn't alter the pronunciation one bit so it's just awkward for the sake of it also it's spelt Rachel in the bible if your interested in such things. Sorry id grammer a bit off it's friday and I've started on the wine!

Ooh, I read the first few replies and thought definitely Rachel then and then a few people said Rachael!f Interestingly my iPad spellcheck likes Rachel and not Rachael.

I would spell it Rachel too. I think it's a gorgeous name, and I know a good few under age 16.

catinthehat2 · 20/08/2010 20:11

I know it's not a straightforward spell, and I like this name a lot, but I really like it with an "A" when it's written down, I would be really really tempted........

Rachel. Beautiul name, which I lobbied for for dd1, but to my surprise a lot of people (including dp) don't really like it. I think it's lovely.

moomaa · 20/08/2010 20:03

Rachel, I like it too.

Jojay · 20/08/2010 20:03

Rachel - otherwise she'll spend her life spelling it out to people.

Lovely name btw Smile
