AIBU to consider wearing a brooch? Do you wear brooches? (Title edited by MNHQ at the OP's request.)

I've never worn a brooch in my life, I am almost 40.

Do you ever wear a brooch? are they only for old ladies who run village fetes?

I am currently looking for new jewellery to go with autumn outfits and keep seeing pretty brooches but I really don't know if I would wear one or could pull it off

I have lots of brooches and started wearing them in the last year. I really like them. I get lots second hand or from charity shops very cheaply. I wear them on coats and jackets usually, but sometimes on shirts. There’s an Instagrammer called the Elegant Stylist who I follow, who’s a big fan of brooches.

I used to, but I haven't for years. I still have a few, but I don't know when or where I would wear them now. It just doesn't seem to be a thing.

Actually, I think a lot of modern fabrics don't lend themselves to brooches. You need a certain weight of fabric to hold them, and one that won't be damaged by the pin.

I haven't got any. But if I had a very nice one yes I'd wear it. Why not?
If you want to wear one wear one. What does fashion matter. I think people should just wear what they like.

I can’t imagine any situation where you would be ‘unreasonable’ for wearing a brooch.

I'd never wear a brooch, they are not 'me' at all. I'm early 60s.

I have a few, pinned onto denim jackets, but don't often wear them. I have a collection from the 80s.
However, I notice that they are being stocked again in lots of shops, so I think they are having a come back.

I wear them all the time. On thick jackets or denim dungarees/ pinafores. My collection is very varied. I have a very detailed bronze French horn, a plain silver crescent moon, a large cameo and an orange resin cat shape with the word cat embossed, amongst many more. I love em.

I’ve never worn one but I like seeing people make unusual fashion choices. There’s more to life than a capsule wardrobe in this season’s colours. I’d definitely admire you in your brooch.

Yes. I have a YSL one that I wear often and an amber jewelled bug that I wear with a tweed jacket. I like them. I’m 40 ish.

No, it's too old lady/posh countryside wears wellies for me. Same as those goddam awful padded headbands. Nooooooooo!

Each to their own though and wear what you want OP.
