I’ve worn brooches since I was a teen. I’m neatly 60 now. Go for it.

I'd like to give them a go I think. Maybe on a Tweed blazer? Or a coat but they might get caught on scarves.

I saw a guy probably in his 50s in Soho the other day wearing an amazing diamante snake brooch on his jacket. Otherwise conservatively dressed. Strong look.

When they are on trend you start seeing them around. I have a few. Don’t wear them often but the right one can really make an outfit.

They have been listed as one of the next big trends coming up so I imagine you’ll be seeing a lot more people wearing them over winter on their coats and jackets. I think I’d look like a bit of twat with one on my fleece on the school run but I think one would look great on a more formal jacket of an evening.

I wear them on coats and jackets. Not the old lady kind, though. Mine are usually more on the alt/goth side.

Yes, I wear brooches. I got most of them from Vinted.

Probably not what you mean, but sometimes I have loads on my handbag, or
on normal clothes. I think they finish a casual outfit quite well.
I don't really wear one single brooch, I think stacking them makes it more interesting.

On a smart dress, more at belt level.

I have a few - some antique/vintage ones from my grandmother/mother and some new ones I’ve bought myself (love the Michael Michaud botanical ones which I’ve bought in the shop at the v&a) I love them and do wear them on coats and jackets and occasionally on a plain black polo neck jumper.

I wear brooches a lot. Accessories are a key part of my unique look and I have a huge collection.

They are very much making a come back! Along with the kerchief and triangle scarf.

64, have worn brooches for decades, collect a particular maker, abstract styles. Often have nice comments on them, wear them on bags, jackets, pockets, in trios... about my style and the fashion currently is a bit contrived for me, I like jewellery to be fun. You have to be careful re. fabric and how well they are made, so good pins, locks, finishing smooth and not about to click everything it touches. I don't wear on knitwear but do wear scarf rings occasionally, as I also like vintage silk scarves. Like most clothing ornaments, usually something for everyone. I like a button clip too!

Gosh, they don’t have that vibe at all to me. More the opposite- quirky, individualistic, anti-fashion.

I'm 60s and have worn them since my teens, mainly collect Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau, a couple of Georgian black dot paste (sparkly for evening) and some seed pearl pieces. Don't wear much other jewellery and I think they're just my 'thing'!

You do have to be careful with the material as they don't sit right on anything too flimsy and the pins can damage. I wear them on coats and jackets and on the v or scoop of dresses/tops or at the neck. Scarves that are eg velvet also OK.

I think they can look good on a plain coat.

Also to make a top that's too low look decent.

So a small brooches for a top and bigger bolder ones for a coat.

I have a few of each but I lost a "good" one, as my mum would have said, from a coat I wore at a funeral so mine are all just costume jewellery now

I have quite a collection- I used to wear them a lot in my 20s, when workwear was often a jacket with lapels. These days, I'm more often in jeans and t-shirt, and the fabrics wouldn't take the weight.

I do have a couple that are worth a bit - a lovely Victorian one in good and pearls which was my grandmother's, but the rest are wood, enamel, pewter, ceramic, all sorts of things - mini paint pallet, birds, basket of flowers, abstract patterns. Loads of others. Then I can wear what suits my mood.

I used to. But oddly enough this year I took them all off because they looked odd.

I like a brooch, especially abstract or mid century silver and pewter ones. Accessories are what you make them! Hopefully channelling Baroness Hale not HM QE2. My tip, wear it high on the shoulder, not on your boob.

I sell vintage jewellery online and brooches are popular, in part because the size doesn't matter, a lot of vintage clothes for example are on the small side by today's standards but anyone can wear a brooch. If you are looking to buy a brooch or several without spending too much money try eBay, Etsy, charity shops, vintage shops.

I’m from an army family and married an army officer. I now have two regimental brooches: one of my father’s cap badge and the other of my husband’s. They are both beautiful - delicate and encrusted with enamel and jewels. More than that, they are meaningful. I wear one or other at certain events - civic dinners, Remenbrance events, regimental reunions etc. And I’m proud to do so.

Angela Rippon (look her up) wears them all the time.

That camp Welsh presenter Owain Wyn Evans on Homes Under the Hammer wears them with aplomb.

I’ve got several brooches. Wear them with my winter coats. I feel quite stylish and they do attract attention and often break the ice.

I'm over 60 and nobody I know wears one. Over 80s possibly.

I have a little blue and gold bumble bee that my late son bought me for Mothers Day when he was about 10

I don't wear it because I'm scared of losing it, I think the last time I wore it was to his funeral
