To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

FuadaFan · 09/09/2026 14:17

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

I'd avoid the CITME threads. There are numerous deleted posts for antisemitism. It's hidden in a corner of mn for a reason. I used to read the threads but no point replying to the small number of repetitive posters banging on about how Israel....... etc with little accountability on their freedom fighters.

I think that for some blaming just Israel is there way. There is a factual, proven rise in antisemitism in the UK. There have been terror attacks resulting in deaths here too. Jewish people do need more protection at school and security due to antisemitism in the UK. Some people appear unable to separate the Israeli government from Jewish people in the UK.

Its been like that for a long time sadly. Anti Israel sentiment has just become a means of legitimising Jew hate. I'm in the UK and remember both attacks.

Shortly after the second one a video went viral on Instagram of a man beating up two Jewish people who were just minding thier own business. They tried to justify it by saying the victims were "Zionists" but there was absolutely no proof of that at all. It was just an unprovoked racist attack.

Had to look that one up, very funny ;)

You were literally assuming me and @FreshJalapenos were Israeli agents a while back. I'm still waiting for by pay from the "Hasbara cartel". Jewish isn't a nationality btw.

I was not and I am aware, I guess that's me told :)

I'm simply detailing the realities of combat scenarios and how easy it is for tragedies to happen in those contexts.

Hypothetical and inapplicable scenarios.

I am gently suggesting you at least read about an incident before posting commentary which only highlights your complete ignorance of what happened at the Cohen house in Kibbutz Be’eri.

You are also unnecessarily adversarial. After all, I am a Jewish woman and I’m not one of whoever you think you need to teach a lesson to.

What precisely would you consider October 7th except a combat scenario/a terrorist attack?

Of course we knew this over a year ago.

Many posters on the CITME board screaming about Israel deliberately starving babies IIRC.

COGAT have a trail of what's gone into Gaza. They often posted it on X. I also remember journalists filming tonnes of aid on the Gaza side that wasn't picked up so it was rotting in the sun, that included baby milk and food. Never made it into MSM funnily enough.

Also that UN imbecile insisted 14,000 babies would die within 48 hours but we now know there was no famine at all in Gaza and Hamas was hiding baby food anyway.

This whole conflict has been a full on blood libel against the Jews.

That was such a wild claim.
The figure was based on a prediction that there might be 14,000 cases of severe malnutrition over a full year, not 14,000 deaths in 48 hours.
Of course the claim was widely amplified by media, before being clarified by the UN.

What precisely would you consider October 7th except a combat scenario/a terrorist attack?

October 7th was a large scale terrorist attack leaving just over 1,200 victims dead and over 200 hostages taken into Gaza.

I do not see the point of your question other than to imply I think any different.
Perhaps it is to obscure the fact you speculated that it was a 6 man tank division in combat with 40 Hamas terrorists. And that the decision to fire on the house was ‘in the heat of combat in a confined space’ both of which are not at all what happened in real life.

I don’t know who you are to post lies about me and what I have posted.

My main point is that I will not watch Fauda because it is ethically and morally wrong to make money off the victims pain and suffering so soon, especially when many families have no body to bury and are still grieving. It is just too soon.

I realise this isn’t the case for many who haven’t been so deeply affected by Oct 7th and they enjoy watching Fauda in the comfort of their living rooms.

You do realise Season 5 of Fauda was already commissioned and in filming before Oct 7th? Considering the premise of Fauda, it would have been odd to make no mention of it. The new season would have been produced and screened anyway.

I haven't seen any Israelis with your opinion. The many I've seen talking about it on X feel it didn't go far enough in showing what happened that day.

Do you feel the same way about the pro-Palestine films produced since Oct 7th. Including the Hind Rejab one and the Naza doc out of interest?

I based the 40 figure on your own posts- though you couldn't be consistent on it. You said only 1 terrorist was in the house and then came out with 40.

I don't believe Fauda is making money off tragedy: on the contrary. I believe it is a necessary corrective to much of the denialism and justification of what happened that day.
And contrary to certain other filmmakers I will not name, the show-runners and actors were personally impacted by those events, but still took pains not to be gratuitous.

People who wouldn't watch a documentary will watch a Spy drama and may finally begin to understand things from the Israeli side.

Exactly. Many Jewish people and Israelis believe its a a counterbalance to Naza: and by showing one of the main characters family being impacted it may actually help people feel at least some sympathy for Israelis. Showing they are not the monsters that MSM portrays them to be but ordinary people with families like the rest of us.

“Rape dogs” was bought up by pro Pals on the CITME board. Now that’s a vile place but you probably already know it.

It has only been brought up by pro Israelis on this thread though. People on both sides of this conflict have made up false accusations of atrocities (and to be clear I’m
not suggesting anyone here has done this, I am talking about major stories like the 40 beheaded babies) and supporters of both sides have in some cases believed and spread these accusations, including on MN threads. before learning that they were untrue.

Of course ideally people should wait for verification and sound evidence before believing and spreading misinformation about any accusations of atrocities but the reality is people don’t always do this, and it happens on both sides so I’m unsure why the “rape dogs” story is being mentioned so often on this thread.

Because it was first reported by a very prestigious and presented newspaper, based in a city with most Jews. Do you have any idea how damaging a lie like that is?

And would you like me to tell you exactly why it’s antisemitic to have made that lie up?

So once again you don’t want to find out why the dog rape claim is antisemitic?

And no I don’t respect everyone in the world. I don’t respect cultures that make women second class citizens. At all. Do you? Quite ironic you’re offended given what you’ve posted here. Pretending you love “All people’s” is frankly hilarious.

Ill tell you anyway why the dog rape lie is antisemitic despite the fact you’re so desperate not to learn about antisemitism

The myth that Jewish people possess evil abilities - such as the blood libel - goes back millennia and has been key in in every incident of displacement, harm and mass murder of Jews. It was key in the 1930’s Europe mass murder of Jews; Nazis peddled it and dumbarse and hateful people

  1. bought it, or
  2. Didn’t wanna hear the logic as to why it wasn’t true (I wonder how you feel being in this category?)
These myths have included superhuman and supernatural abilities, with a link to dark/devil magic. The great idiot masses were effectively told that Jews have evil magic in them and they WILL use this evil magic against them unless we get rid of them. And people bought it, they buy it today.

Now, it is not possible to teach dogs to rape Palestinians. And there’s no evidence of it, at all. The NYP very dangerously published this unfounded claim on the word of a Jew hater. But yet, the 21st century hard of thinking (at this point IDGAF if you are crying about a personal insult, people who diminish Jewish suffering SHOULD be insulted) have bought it. I know you haven’t said explicitly that you believe it, but honestly you’re very transparent and your constant attempts to dodge question using weak arguments of semantics plus the “la la la I’m not listening” when anyone speak of Jewish suffering, is the hallmark of the usual suspects.

I hope you’ve read this and think a little harder about what it must be like being part of the people who have to put up with this.

Ah, so now you’re switching to cultures.

Just a reminder, it is all races and ethnicities you don’t respect.

And no I don’t respect all races ethnicities and religions.

Therefore you don’t respect women and children of these races you don’t respect.

What race and ethnicity am I? Am I of one of the races or ethnicities you don’t respect? I might be, you haven’t specified. But I need to listen to you lecturing about why your ethnicity deserves respect? Good grief.

And to be clear, I respect the Jewish people, as I respect all races and ethnicities. And people of all religions. I don’t have to agree with the religion to respect the people who are born into those religions. I don’t respect every single Jewish person (Netanyahu for example) as I don’t respect every single white person (eg Trump).

But you don’t respect people of all races and ethnicities so I struggle to understand your logic for you believing that everyone, including people of the races and ethnicities you don’t respect, should respect yours and should listen to you explaining how? Could you explain?

I do struggle to understand the thought process of someone who simultaneously says that they don’t respect all races and ethnicities but other people should listen to them about antisemitism.

And just to be clear, I’m really not bothered about being called antisemitic by someone who has told me they don’t respect all races and ethnicities. It’s frankly laughable that you think your opinion would matter to me, or to anyone else who respects people of all races and ethnicities.

Let me be blunt @FeeFiFoFiddlyFum. Your "respect" or the lack of it, is utterly irrelevant to Jewish people when somebody rams a synagogue with their car or mows down kids at a Hanukkah party on a beach.

The very fact you believe your "right to criticise" is more important than people's safety really says it all.
