To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

They are allowed? 750k Israelis live in the West Bank, and around 100k Israelis are currently occupying most of Gaza.

The times they are not allowed is on the order of the Israeli government as the occupying power for all West Bank and all of Gaza.

You sound really familiar…same kind of outlandish comments that are not factual.

What is the legal status of these people? Are they recognised by the PA? If they are considered "illegal settlers" it proves my point- Jews aren't legally allowed to set foot in the West Bank.

Yemen? You mean the Houthis that were sending missiles at Israeli villages? Are you seriously saying the UK and SA should not have defended Israel?
In addition, the death toll of civilians from SA is 9k from 2015 to today. Israel exceed that decade’s worth death toll in Gaza within a few months.

The total death toll is 150k, not 750k and as above 141k were killed by the Houthis.

Yes, I'm aware of the Houthis and how bad they are. I mentioned Yemen because people like to claim the UK is selling so many weapons to Israel when we sell far more to Ukraine, SA and Pakistan.

As for figures, they vary wildly. The Saudi led blockade led to famine, and so the actual number of civilian casualties is probably far higher.

According to Save the Children, its speculated more than 85,000 children died of Starvation in Yemen. That's more than the total number of "civilian" casualties in Gaza.

@FuadaFan let us all know what you think of NAZA

Boppydoodah · 18/09/2026 21:50

9/11 was horrifying. It did not justify Afghanistan, Iraq, and Guantanamo Bay. Arguably Alligator Alcatraz and ICE are also unacceptable results of a nation still scarred by 9/11.

I worked with a respected international aid agency straight out of university. I trust the dehumanizing actions my boss observed on multiple visits to Gaza & the West Bank, including IDF obstruction and harassment of very ill children being taken to medical care, over things I see online (from both perspectives). It's not hard to understand where that type of dehumanization and blind eyes being turned leads decades later given full reign.

The Palestinians have been offered a state twice btw. Last time in 1997. All Israel asked for in return was free access to Jewish religious sites.

The PA turned it down because they wanted it all. Not all of the West Bank and Gaza- all of Israel too.

This is not at all true. Not going to go into it because anyone can read the history for themselves.

Actually the #1 country the UK at least sells arms to is Saudi Arabia. They killed 750,000 in Yemen & caused a famine with thier blockage. Yet I don't see anyone calling for trade embargos on Saudi Arabia.

China has a million Uyghurs in concentration camps, yet I don't see anyone demanding an immediate end of importing Chinese goods. Seems to be a bit of a double standard.

If Palestinians are subject to "Apartheid" why aren't Jews legally allowed to set foot in Gaza or the West Bank? That seems rather more like Apartheid.

@Medievalgirl2
Do you realise that Jews setting foot on the Temple Mount is considered a form of "settler violence"? Let me put that into perspective with a hypothetical: imagine Catholics took over Mecca, built a Cathedral on top of the Kaa'ba and then banned any Muslims from worshipping there. That's basically what happened to Jews.

Temple Mount - setting foot on the Temple Mount (the compound of Al-Aqsa Mosque) is not considered a form of settler violence by Jews. Firstly, Jewish visitors are allowed on Temple Mount and into the mosque as tourists. We are simply asked not to pray or hold religious ceremonies on Temple Mount. Haredi rabbis actually forbid praying there because the site has not been consecrated.

Historically what happened is the Romans destroyed the 2nd Temple of Jerusalem in 70 AD and built a stable block on this holy site. They then built a royal/governer’s palace next to it and a temple to Apollo.

Under Constantine, a small church to St Helena was started on Temple Mount but it was never finished and ended up being a rubbish dump.

Later, Islam came about and built a shrine over the rock Mohammad is meant to have ascended from (Dome of the Rock) and converted the temple to Apollo into the first Al Aqsa mosque.

The crusaders in the 11th c. converted the dome of the rock to a Christian church and the Al Aqsa mosque to the Templar HQ and palace for the King of Jerusalem.

When Saladin re-conquered Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa was converted back to a mosque and shrine.

When it was captured in 1967 by Israel, we decided to leave it under Jordanian management because the UN partition sets it aside for the Arab/Palestinian future state. We pray at the western wall, just outside the compound, because that’s all that’s left of the 2nd Temple after Roman destruction followed by Christian, Muslim, Christian and now Muslim building on ruins or conversions.

Terror and injustice is wrong, no matter who is carrying it out. I'm glad we can agree on something. I hope that Israelis and Palestinians find a way forward to live in peace side by side. Or at the very least, tolerate each other for their own sakes. Both sides will have to make concessions but I don't think it is impossible.

I think they are brave. Are they selling out their country or forcing conversations on a harsh reality that some people are not willing to have?

The harsh reality people aren't willing to have conversations about is what was done to Israelis on October 7th. That's why a literal massacre survivor who hid under her friends bodies for 8 hours whilst terrorists threw grenades into a bomb shelter was was booed and heckled at Eurovision last year.

People already think the IDF are Satan and want them all killed. Avraham and Szor were just pandering to existing prejudice.

I don't have any sympathy for the makers of Naza. They're not stunning or brave. They sold out thier own country for money and fame.

Bravery would be making a documentary about Oct 7 victims. Or doing like the lovely Yuval Raphael did last year at Eurovision: getting up on that stage despite the booing and heckling.

Palestinian homes that are on Palestinian land have been illegally taken over by violent Israeli settlers right now. Even some Israelis have condemned this terror as a stain on their country. Why is it so hard for you to admit or say that is wrong? Why are you excusing it?

Its wrong. Why is it so hard for you to accept Palestinians historical actions including the ethnic cleansing of Jews from "thier land" and laws enabling exclusion along racial and religious lines is wrong?

BerthaPotts · 18/09/2026 12:53

These actions are what is turning Israel into a pariah state.

Israel has been hated since the start. Noting new there. The double standards are also nothing new. Hundreds of Nigerian Christians murdered and villages destroyed each month yet nowhere near the level of vitriol.

I meant trade restrictions and sanctions. Every lever should be pulled to stop the Israeli government from stealing land and killing civilians across multiple countries.

Palestinian's have no rights in the West Bank. Their houses are taken and demolished, businesses just shut down, families are killed and children assaulted. The West Bank is apartheid. Look at laws now making it legal to execute Palestinians for crimes but not Israeli's. Both Palestinians and Israelis should have safe homes - the two state solution is the only solution. The settler violence against Palestinians is unbelievable and shockingly criminal.

Have you seen the settler violence? The settlers are actively stealing land, kicking out Palestinians and killing families. The idea that the IDF are just keeping the peace and stopping Palestians from harming innocent settlers is awful. The reports about the treatment of the Palestinian people have been appalling.

I imagine that most Palestinian people want the same from the settlers and the IDF. Hamas and the Israeli government are both terrorist organisations who are killing civilians. We have every sanction against Hamas as we should. Yet many Governments are supplying weapons to Israel and providing them with help and endorsement. That must stop immediately.

I'm quite shocked at what you are willing to excuse in terms of settler terror.

Don't misrepresent my position. What are you prepared to tolerate? Forced eviction of all Jews from the region? Because that would appear to be the natural endpoint.

BerthaPotts · 18/09/2026 12:38

Medievalgirl2 · 18/09/2026 12:34

I know perfectly well. "Ending" it would require violent eviction of said "settlers" by thier own Army.
Which bo doubt the world would cheer on.

Ethnic cleansing of Jews from the West Bank is something of a tradition, actually. Read up about what Jordan did when they ruled the region and the 1929 Hebron Massacre.

Yes. What do you think "ending settler violence" would entail? Especially since according to the Palestinian Authorities own laws no Jew is allowed to set foot in the West Bank?

Or where you questioning my historical claims?

Ok. I see you don't know what's happening in Qusra. Violent settlers have gone in and taken over Palestinian homes on Palestinian land. It has gotten so bad that even Huckabee has had to condemn it and has warned Israel to put an end to it, but to no avail.

It has been going on for weeks. It's one of the worst ongoing cases of settler intimidation in recent times.
