AIBU to be shocked at the violence towards women at the Reform conference?

Another video showing the violence against a woman at the Reform conference. They are actually PULLING A WOMAN DOWN ON THE FLOOR and KICKING HER.

A man in a suit and a man with a lanyard both kicking her. The man with the walking stick in the other videos (identified as Stephen Cooling) looks like he's pulling her down and possibly kicking her too. Women are just watching with no care for the victim.

This is Fascism. Given Nigel's horrifyingly GLEEFUL response to this, this violence will become the norm under Reform.

How can people defend this?

Bear in mind we live in an era where nothing is safe - MPs have been murdered at their surgeries or in their own home. There are random attacks on innocent people in the street. Even an ariana grande concert was blown up.

All these things results from two sources - islamism and leftist violence.

And so if an aggressive malcontent suddenly reveals themselves at a crowded gathering, its only right to ensure they are quickly and effectively subdued in the interests of public safety.

You cant take any chances with safety in this day and age.

She was already being dealt with by security when the mob of attackers swarmed in.

The attack makes for disturbing watching because a group of people were visibly full of hatred towards an anonymous stranger for political reasons.

Those people have been radicalised.

To the point of being happy to commit a crime in front of cameras.

As a country we need to talk about that.

They have been sneered at and derided constantly. Tipping point just noticed… oops they fought back.

That is an irrelevant little detail. A Reform associate has been brutally murdered, but that won't stop fascists with their heckling thinking everyone else wants to hear them. I have absolutely no sympathy. I only blame Reform for allowing her to have done this twice, as she's caught on camera bragging.

Heckling is an accepted activity when politicians are speaking in public and hopefully always will be. I would rather have hecklers than censorship, whoever the hecklers may be.

Yes it was shocking. It was also addressed immediately. He was back the next day, when he received a formal apology, and the full conference stood to welcome his return with applause.

I don’t think you understand the difference between heckling and censorship.

Heckling has long been a feature of our democracy. Disrupting a political speech has long been a form of protest, from the Chartists to the suffragettes, it’s part of British history and culture.

Leaving aside the fact that words are a very different matter to physical violence (other than incitement to violence, obviously), there are ways and means of removing people who disrupt events that are proportionate to the disruption they're causing.

The point at issue here is a party that endorses its supporters using unnecessary force against a peaceful protester. What her views were, whether she is reasonable, whether she should have done what she did are all completely irrelevant here.

Reasonable people don't violently attack someone who heckles at political conferences. I don't see how any reasonable thinking person can think that such violence is an acceptable response. I am glad that is not my mindset.
