Sadly, you're probably right. I think it might shed them at least a few percentage points in the polls though. The cultists will remain. They really are the UK MAGA crowd, how they can't see that he's an odious man who views them with contempt is beyond me. I’m proud to be British but I’m also aware that history changes and views and understanding also shift and develop.

Accepting that things we did then might be viewed differently to modern eyes is part of history - we did do things like oppressing nations, trading in human beings and robbing resources to make us rich - acknowledging that doesn’t make my identity as a British person lesser!

One of the very many interesting things that we saw was Orr saying "We just don't have British resident donors. British entities that would support us. That's the grim reality."

And that is the grim reality for Reform. After criticism of council spending on flags in Nottinghamshire, Lee Anderson told us it wouldn't cost the public a penny. That all the costs would be covered by patriotic businesses in the area. No businesses donated.

I do think this kind of thinking exposes why Reform will never win a general election. Because the way Reform paint Britain is just not how most people see their country.

Most of the voting public are painfully aware of the many difficult challenges we are facing as a nation, but they don’t hate their country. They look around at their neighbourhoods and their neighbours, and they just don’t see a dirty, overcrowded dump, or de-colonised libraries and two-tier policing.

You can’t win mainstream support or win over floating voters with a vision that divisive.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Reform is not a genuine political party. It's a money-making exercise for Farage and his cronies, dressed up as a political party.

There will never be a PM Nigel Farage. He doesn't want the job. He'd be too restricted and under too much scrutiny. If the moment ever comes where it looks like Reform are in with a real chance of winning an imminent general election, you just watch him step down "to pursue other interests" or "to avoid distractions from our worthy cause".

He's been engaged in the same grifting and con-artist tricks for 30 years.

The police haven't actually begun the investigation yet, as far as I'm aware. I expect we will get an announcement in due course.

The Electoral Commission has confirmed that it has been liaising with the Met police regarding the matter.
