As for that memorandum of understanding, it is not worth the paper it is written on. It is a stunt.

This is what gets to me most of all. Farage, Tice et al and many of their donors will see their voter base as scum. They'd cross the road to avoid them if they weren't after their votes. The real sting would to be catch this lot laughing about the plebs that vote for them. There is no way in hell that they don't mock them. Upper class and upper middle class right wingers do not care one jot for the under class and working class.

You’re right - I don’t know what Nigel Farage knows or assumes. The impression I get - that was compounded by the footage of him swilling oysters and champagne while laughing with people as they set about breaking our democratic laws - is of a very wealthy, privileged man exploiting people’s fears (and in some cases prejudices) for his own financial and political gain.

Maybe I’m wrong. But I think enough people have the same impression for it to be very, very difficult for him to become Prime Minister now.

I don't wish to be picky but I didn't spot any champagne on the table (although I've only watched the condensed footage showing Farage). There's a bottle of white wine with a screw top and several bottles of water. I don't think they were drinking champagne on this occasion.

The oysters look quite affordable if you like that sort of thing;

I agree with @Firetreev that Reform despise everything about their own voting base - apart from their votes. Who or what does Farage relate to in Clacton ffs? No coincidence it's the most white, uneducated part of the U.K.

Watch out for an array of new, easy-to-chant slogans and a desperate campaign of 'look over there' distraction tactics as his corruption is revealed. The £5m will just be the tip of the iceberg.

I’m sure I read he was drinking Guinness with a champagne topper. Maybe I’m wrong. And maybe that is a reasonable price for oysters, I wouldn’t know.

But regardless, to me, the image of these obscenely wealthy men, born into lives of enormous privilege, merrily indulging themselves as they undermined our hard-fought-for democracy by allowing big money foreign donors to infiltrate their party struck me as grotesque.
