When the alert went off, be honest, did you think the Russia had launched one?

When the alert went off did you, for a fraction of a second, think Vlad had finally snapped and pressed the button?

Disappointing if he had because I if I’d known, I’d have added more loo roll to the Tesco delivery.

😆😅 Just so you know, if Russia sets one off to the UK, you’d be crispy charcoal before any alerts went off.

I was in the minor injuries clinic with a garden mishap, the alarm went off, and the nurse did a runner. Cheers Andy B, I had waited over 3 hours to get treated ....

Ha ha, it did cross my mind…

But we did just all calmly look at our phones, and I thanked my lucky stars it was not that, because I do have friends for whom that is the reality.

The actual content of the message was hardly great though, that we’re looking at possible wildfires in the UK. The famously cold and rainy islands.

Nope. My work phone went off first, so my first thought was that the hospital hadn't let us know they had a new way of putting crash calls through to our phones, and that I needed to leg it into work (oncall from home).

Was in the kitchen right next to my friend should just arrived to get sloshed with me on concktails.Her alarm on her phone, her watch, and mine on my phone and my watch went off and we looked at each other thenboth started singing the start of FGTH ‘two tribes’ and then cracked open the wine!

I realised it was the government alert system so I assumed there was a new wildfire close to us and we were being warned to evacuate.

Nope, my 9 year old son thought it was my alarm clock and I thought it was the game he was playing, I was still working my shift triaging for the community nurses for the NHS at the time and we have been having IT issues for the past 2 weeks so thought it was a scam!

Yes - I was driving - that was honestly my first thought, and my second thought was I don’t know WTF I can do about it.

No, I was taking a sneaky photo of my toddler with the road sweeper and thought it was his horn or something.

I jumped out of hi l my skin.

I live in London and if anyone were too bomb us, I take comfort in knowing I'd likely die quickly.

I live in Wales but not a fluent Welsh speaker. Got the alert only in Welsh so spent a while
trying to recognise any words.

Mine was in Welsh, l love opposite Wales in Somerset, my phone always thinks it's in Wales, weirdly my wife's was in English

I'm not sure I'm particularly calm tbh.

I don't think it really registered with either of us that it was an actual alarm. It wasn't particularly loud or scary.

No we have had a,few mainly storm and weather warnings, l presumed it was a weather thing, im sure we won't get an alert if a missile is heading our way, government won't want panic.

I was actually talking to someone on my phone when it came through. We both just read the message on our phones, and went on with our conversation.
