What did you get for your A Levels (if you did them)? (Trigger warning - a levels 💐🫂)

You think there is no slur or offence by calling someone out as “not being an intellectual” when they were clearly showing some vulnerability and disappointment about exam results? Are you really so lacking in emotional intelligence to not recognise how unreasonably harsh that is even if you two have some kind of history of going toe to toe on political threads? Your opinion is not worth more than hers no matter what qualifications you have.

I am 70, and I am interested in the same topics as XenoBitch so I see her username regularly. I am not miserable with my own life, but I rarely read her comments without thinking, this is a person who believes there is a magic money tree in the garden of 10 Downing St. No personal slur or offence intended.

DEE English lit, history, German.
Went to uni to do a B.Ed, switched to English lit and education studies. Got a 2:2.
Graduated a bloody long time ago in 1994.

Thank you. I was going to report it too but was actually worried it would just be called a strong opinion or some crap. I am actually shaking, it really upset me.

Anyway, my sister fluffed her A-levels too, but managed to finish them. She is doing alright for herself. My brother got good grades and finished uni, but MH got him too so he works for DM when he can.

The comment from the other poster has really upset me. I dropped struggled with sixth form because that was when I became really unwell with mental health issues. I was kicked out because they did not know what to do with me.
I have tried several times to get an education. I have been to uni twice, and had an offer for another time (but I failed the Access course). I have spent silly money on adult education courses and OU... I can't do it.

AAB in French, Sociology and History and an A at AS level English Literature. I understand your pain OP, the B has always annoyed me. The school I went to had two A Level History teachers and they took it year about to take the incoming class. I got the bad one and until then I'd always got an A in end of year History exams.

Not really, but it is what it is.
Not for lack of trying. I managed to fail an Access course

BBC in the dim dark past, when they were marked on a bell curve so the number of each grade was restricted. English Lit, French with French Lit (distinction for spoken), German with German Lit (distinction for spoken). And all that despite being bullied by a new teacher (later struck off for that shit) and barely being there in my final year. Made my first choice and insurance for university, but couldn’t face doing any of it after my horrible U6 year, so binned it all off, got a job, learned to drive, and reapplied for completely new subjects with my results and got 5 unconditional offers. Ended up on a course which gave me two subjects that lead directly to niche career jobs which I’ve now been in for over 30 years.

Things have a habit of coming out right in the end.

Further Maths B
Chemistry C

Mid 90s so A was the highest.

A - English Lit
B - English Language
D - Sociology

21 years ago. I feel old!

Would've done better in Sociology if I'd realised there were questions on the other side of the paper. I got my first choice uni (Bristol) so wasn't fussed overall.

I didn't even finish my first year. Failed all coursework and exams.
Left (was actually kicked out) sixth form and did a GNVQ instead that I only just scraped a pass on, and had to get someone else to do one assignment as I did not understand it at all.
That GNVQ is the highest level of qualification I have

C, D, E, and dropped out of one. I now have a doctorate (in the subject I got an E in!)
