If you had to be dropped into any country with no money, which country and what would you do to get by?

First I thought Japan and busking (the Japanese love English music). Then I thought maybe South USA for some southern hospitality and maybe my British accent would get me some free drinks?

I’m afraid I’d also pick the uk, I don’t understand how it’s stupid. I’d get benefits and housing.

Nowhere because I’ve been in the situation. I stole food and slept in toilet cubicles in hotels. It’s a grim experience but it lets you know what you’re made of and what you’re willing to do to survive.

It’s not a stupid suggestion though, is it.

Be dropped somewhere where you are already a resident and where you have at least some rights to state support.

The question is basically: where is the best place in the world for you to be destitute.

Obviously, more fun ways to take the question are available.

Spain. I have always liked the thought of moving there and just winging it. Seems like a nice country with an ex-pat community to help.

I bet you're fun at parties!

I'm a pretty fast knitter, so maybe I should be dropped somewhere cold and sell my creations. I could even carry a sign: will knit for food.
