I dont need to hear what opening and closing your cupboards sounds like in HD! I dont need to hear you crunch your crisps! 😩😩

An ASMRless tiktok, its all i'm asking for!

I love certain types of ASMR including pen writing and tinkly jewellery. There's also a regressionist called Andrea Foulkes that used to be on This Morning. She has the most wonderfully soothing voice she uses so I watch reruns of the videos on YouTube from the show. Pure bliss! But what I hate are the people that do that annoying finger thing at the start of their videos and then proceed to whisper over the nice sounds they're making. Also hate those people who make noises directly on to a big microphone. It's too much. I just like the gentle, subtle sounds with no talking!

Conversationalcheddar · 13/08/2026 18:32

I can’t stand the whispering, for some reason I find it very stressful.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 13/08/2026 18:30

Sorry - what do you mean by " haul". This makes no sense - is it a typo??

SummerSummerSummertime · 13/08/2026 18:30

100% op!!! And stop with the bloody finger tapping!!! 🙈🙈🙈🙈😤🤬😤🤬

ExOptimist · 13/08/2026 18:25

hotmumshit · 13/08/2026 15:44

😩 they should come with a trigger warning for those of us who dont enjoy it

Now I cant judge your autumn haul because you insist i need to hear every single sound at full volume

What the fuck is an autumn haul?

To help switch off our functioning brains after busy days or stressful periods. Or just - radical thought - for fun!

Dear god, what have we sunk to? Why why why would any sane person enjoy watching someone else unpacking a shopping bag full of tat? What an absolute waste of brain cells.

I don't watch Tiktok and had no idea this was an actual thing. You surely must be brain dead to want to watch that type of stuff.

bestcatlife · 13/08/2026 18:10

Hope not. I love it. It calms me down

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 13/08/2026 17:58

I hate the mouth noise, tippy tappy, whispery ones. I do love proper, one to one, physical asmr- sitting on the mats at school with your mate drawing on your back, hair brushing, whispering in my ear, having make up done, head massages. I really want to have a proper Japanese head spa, with a facial massage and lots of scalp scratching. I found videos(adverts actually of them and yes, I got the shivers.
There's a very funny woman on Instagram who takes the piss out of the tappy ones.

Wherethedogsits · 13/08/2026 16:16

I love ASMR but I don’t watch hauls!

I use TikTok mostly for wellbeing videos but I am a goddess, so…..

every day is a school day, never heard of this asmr, but then I don’t understand why you would watch someone taking their shopping out of a bag. It’s a bizarre world we live in

Surely, if you're watching a lot of these videos, then you know what's coming; why would you need a trigger warning?

cramptramp · 13/08/2026 15:54

I scroll on immediately anyone does anything like this.

It’s the finger tapping - drives me mad!

Yes, why do you need to finger tap a plate before serving a meal.

Jaimelefromage · 13/08/2026 15:54

I know what should be banned. GIFs.

Surely Ed Milliband doing ASMR videos should have instantly killed this off as a trend months ago?

I’m nearly 60, and have been getting ASMR most of those years, since I was about 4 or 5.

ASMR isn’t a trend or a new thing, only the name is relatively new.

Don’t watch it if you don’t like it! 🙄

I’ve had ASMR from a very young age, I’m 59, and can’t really remember a time when I didn’t have it. Before someone called it “ ASMR” I had no idea what to call it, or that other people got it too.

It is better if it happens naturally, but the videos are brilliant for lying on my bed, and getting totally relaxed, and almost in a trance, the feelings I get are amazing, so relaxing, I just put my earphones in, lie back and feel wonderful when it kicks in.

It has caused some minor issues, when I was at school for instance, the sound of the teacher, or the rustling of papers, used to make me feel so sleepy! At home though, it’s amazing. Please don’t mock a very innocent thing which makes people all over the world very happy.
