Vinted - not clicking all ok

So for me - I ordered two tops separately via InPost two weeks ago- Assumed one had been lost as it had been stuck in transit for over a week. The other one the person kept saying they'd send it and then kept delaying right up until the last day they could (despite knowing when I sent my offer two weeks ago that I was looking to have it before the 7th as that's when I was going away). Naturally within two hours of leaving for holiday both tops magically arrived at the lockers. Had to get my friend to collect them so that they wouldn't end up being sent back. It's possible depending on traffic but ultimately unlikely to be home tomorrow before the 48 hours to confirm that they're ok and release payment passes. If someone left me a bad review for this I'd feel upset. I also always post same or next day as purchase, but I'd never dream of leaving a negative review based purely on waiting 48 hours for payment.

I always click all is ok as soon as I’ve checked it- but unless you know you need to do it to release the funds sooner I get that people don’t. I assume the moneys gone out of my bank once I’ve bought something, so in the buyers defence they could think that it’s already gone so seller must have been paid

Sometimes the item is not as described but it's not worth the aggro to complain. Sometimes the item is delivered whilst you're away. Sometimes the item is fine, but people have jobs etc and cannot expend all of their time and mental and emotionl energy on Vinted-related matters.

It’s within the Vinted rules so you shouldn’t leave a bad review. This is similar to those sellers who expect you to buy their item just because they’ve accepted your offer. I had one message me about 2 hours after they’d accepted my offer saying “are you buying or what”. I’d actually just come back on to buy the item if my offer had been accepted, but when I saw the message I replied and told them I was just about to but had decided against it after seeing their message as it would probably be more trouble than it was worth. I’ve seen a load of sellers write in their profile that they expect items to be purchased if they accept offers. That’s not how it works.

Reading this has just reminded me why I'm glad I'm only a buyer and not a seller on Vinted!

You only have to wait 2 days for the money, you are very unreasonable.

If someone clicks “all ok” quickly I leave them a good review. If they don’t I just don’t bother with a review and let them receive automatic feedback. I’d only leave a bad review if there was an actual issue.

I always click as soon as I’ve checked item. I’m not always there when it’s delivered. If it gets delivered and I’m away for two days, how can I click all ok?

I always post immediately but would never give a bad review for this.

Sometimes I'm not home to receive the order, like I'm working away or on holiday, so I can't click all okay as I haven't seen the item yet 🤷. It's unreasonable to leave poor feedback for that.

I sell too and don't mind waiting for the transaction to clear, I'd never harass someone with messages asking them to click all okay, that's just rude imo. Give people a minute, vinted admin might not be top of the priority list.

They don't owe you to click before the deadline.

Im often not home when they are delivered, dont want to click everything is ok without seeing it, that way if I manage to open it in time I still have time to check it. Its only 2 days to wait, its not like its 2 weeks

It seems a bit spiteful to me.

I usually click everything is ok straight away. This week I ordered something and it arrived filthy - make up round the collar, grimy cuffs, smelled unwashed. Packaging closed with staples rather than tape so really lucky it didn't snag the item (a knitted jumper!). And i order a lot from vinted and this is the first time I'd really say something was that dirty when I received it. I messaged the seller and she never responded even with a short apology. It's not worth the bother of a fight. But I wasn't going to mark it as ok when it really wasn't. I never even gave her a bad review because I don't want to risk a bad review back so I would be furious if she gave me a bad review following that experience.

I’ve nought loads on Vinted before I started selling and only then realised you don’t get payment until the buyer has confirmed everything is OK.

Given it is complete pot-luck when stuff sells on Vinted, I think it is a bit unreasonable to be thinking of it as dependable cashflow.

I hardly ever click it. I get the reminder but it’s not a direct link to the button.

vinted gives customers 2 days so I don’t think you can leave a bad review for it. I just see it as a bonus if they click it’s okay and release the funds earlier

I have started to say in the review when items are not sent quickly, and when buyers don't accept the transaction quickly. It's factual, they don't want the sellers to have the money quickly, they should own it.

I always hit ‘everything is ok’ as soon as I’ve checked the item and get annoyed when buyers don’t, but even then you would be very unreasonable to leave a bad review.

Yeah @kloderanous I only know because this seller was extremely chatty and was explaining her experiences on Vinted

@FilmsandBooks True. I had no idea until she told me but she was really clear she was relying on the money, so now I open immediately if I can

Plenty of buyers, myself included, were completely unaware of this. Hence not realising it was a thing until reading on MN recently.

Be aware these people might not even know you won't get paid.
