To complain about neighbour's BBQ...

Currently sat indoors with all windows shut and extractor fan on full blast, yet neighbours charcoal BBQ smell is still coming to house.

They insist on lighting it and cooking close to our house, even though they could move it down the garden, somewhat.

I obviously don't want to stop them enjoying a BBQ, but I asked if they could move it away from our house (it's closer to ours than it is theirs). We settled on them telling us when they would be lighting the BBQ.

Anything practically I could do? A powerful fan to try and redirect the smoke, ha?

You really can't ask people not to have a BBQ in their own garden in the summer.

I've not asked them to stop having BBQ's, just move it away from my property, or closer to theirs. Or better still, at the bottom of the garden.

I don't mind the smell, outside of my house.

On previous occasions where I've had windows open (due to the hot weather) and not realised they've lit the BBQ, my house has literally been full of smoke, to point where I've had to rewash clothes.

Not sure of what make fan but maybe a oscalating one with different speeds.
if you get one plug it into a extension lead and even stand it on something and direct it straight to where the smoke comes near yours it will help to blow back to them.
But saying that maybe this hot weather wont last much longer who knows but at least you will be prepared.

Maybe time to water your garden and accidentally spray the water over the fence??
I’m joking about that but it would be funny! I really don’t know what to say just that some people are so bloody selfish!
