It’s bollocks isn’t it. Our Close is lovely and quiet until a certain kid turns up. Changes the whole place. I feel your pain

ThatCyanCat · Today 11:12

Well, that's zombies for ya.

Being a cunt isn't age related...

I naturally assumed this was going to be a thread about fledgling Little Owls 🦉

We have the opposite problem. One of the local dads has set up a rope swing off one of the branches of a huge oak tree near my house. For the last fortnight it's been lovely to watch the kids from the estate playing on it. Taking turns, helping the younger ones on and off the swing, just generally having screen free fun. There's been a nit of litter (mostly water bottles) bur the kids have picked it all up when asked.

Now the estate busy body is back off her holidays and she's decided it's 'dangerous', 'damaging the tree' and is causing anti social behaviour. None of it is true and she has reported it to the police, the fire brigade and the council, none of whom are in the slightest bit bothered. Now she's mounting a one woman Facebook campaign to remove the swing. It's actually both funny and sad.

My neighbour has a screechy grandchild who seems to be there every day right now. Good lord, the child is a little madam. The other grandchildren are quite alright.

Thankfully the screechy twats who were visiting family, have buggered off now. Maybe I can get my thesis written in peace now!

Jerrybalanitis · Today 12:48

I am the least tolerant person i know but I rather like the sound of life going on around me. Where I am, it is a ghost town in the summer due to the heat, I quite like the noisy kids in the winter. The tree story is lovely, I hope they win against the busybody, I would do an elf and safety sad face piece for the dm!

Yes, me too! Where we used to live, on the edge of a wood in Leicestershire, there were times when I would throw a shoe out my bedroom window at 3 am because the tawny owls were being deafening. They’re the only th8ng that has ever made me try to sleep with the window shut.

Passaggressfedup · Today 14:12

@Jerrybalanitis, does you enjoyment includes the sound of screeching?

The sound of lovely children together is as lovely and endearing as the sound of screeching little twats is painful to hear.

I have just put up my new sign that arrived yesterday, sorry about the language but it makes me laugh and I need to take them where I can living here in this hell hole. It's amazing how much one family can trash it for so many, was fine before they moved in.

(If MN let's the image go up!).

This is one if the threads that confirms to me that I am autistic because I'm really struggling to make any sense out of the OP or what the point of the thread is.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · Today 20:31

Get the ever popular wind chimes.

Glad it's not just me. We seem to have a garden full of them. And when they're having a night off, the bastard Canada Geese on the river below us come and hang out on our bend. You're just drifting off to sleep, then there's one honk - and an answering double honk. Then 3 seconds later, about 50 geese are going at it hammer and tongs.

AutisticMumOf2 · Today 21:17

I second wind chimes. Get at least a dozen.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · Today 21:24

Our DNs were away for a week and it was bliss. Now he’s back and it’s noise cancelling headphones in the garden time again. Loud machinery- angle grinders and so on- and loud radio simultaneously.
