I just get the cheapest Sensodyne - I can't use anything else as my teeth will scream in agony within a week.

It shouldn't be as expensive as hand-made gin.

It's not that I can't afford the toothpaste - it's the principle: why is fairly ordinary toothpaste the same price as handmade bloody gin?

Between toothpaste and shampoo it’s all gone a bit depressing. You can only buy on offer now, and actually most of the Colgate toothpastes are horrendous prices now, except for the one that doesn’t proclaim to actually do anything!!

I only use Sensodyne as well OP. And have done for many many years.

There's usually an offer on at least one type of Sensodyne in Sainsbury's so I just buy whichever one is the cheapest- I asked my Hygenist about whether there was any difference in the types of Sensodyne and she said no, apart from the ones that claim to be whitening ones are more abrasive.

I've never thought to compare it's cost with gin. It's just something I regard as a necessity.

Doesn't everyone compare prices by volume or weight? I buy beer in 500ml cans, but I still compare the price per litre. Same with crisps, meat, washing fluid etc.

£2.50 on Amazon for 75ml @IHateShein equivalent of £33.33 per litre I think, so nearly half the price of the handmaid gin 😂

Well no because they company needs to pay x2 packaging distribution overhead costs for 500ml vs 1L and that is compounded many more times when you consider how many tubes a litre of toothpaste is 🤣

I know the OP's point was spurious, but I was meaning comparing between the price of hula hoops over walkers, or San Miguel over Super Bock. Or even between mince in Lidl to Tesco.

I've often found that the club card offers try to push the customer one way, but comparing by weight shows that the offer is actually more expensive.
