DH-same PJs, no pants, 7 days… am I overrea

Finally a sensible post.

I stopped wearing knickers once I had a hysterectomy and tbh feel a lot cleaner and have had much fewer yeast infections than I previously used to have. I haven't worn jeans since I was in my 20s and wearing other trousers feels fine. I've also no issues with wearing a dress and no undies (I'm well past the age of wearing miniskirts). Although many years ago, I did have an embarrassing moment on Oxford Street one summer. I had an armful of books and tripped spilling all the books and scrapping my knee, but also my dress rode up. I think I gave the Japanese tourists who were behind me quite a fright. I was pretty mortified, but just picked myself up and carried on as normal. And it didn't make me change my underwear habits either.

I thought only llamas wore pyjamas.

I have to say, the first time I heard about wearing underwear under pjs was on MN. For a Man or a woman.

And yes dh was sleeping naked anyway. That is until the dcs got older and were more likely to see him naked. I had to point out that maybe there was a time it wasn’t suitable anymore to see each other naked, even if in the middle of the nigut.

Too many questiond. How do you wear jeans or frocks with no undies.

What about when you have your period?

Dont your clothes get stained and marked eith normal vaginal discharge?

I don't even wear knickers during the day; I'm certainly not about to start wearing them while I sleep.

As a teenager at boarding school in the mid 1950s, DH's uncle found that clothing, bedding and laundry thereof were managed by the staff of the "Linen Room". Every Friday evening, each boy found on his bed a "laundry bundle", containing one each of flat bed-sheet, pillow case, shirt, vest, underpants and pair of socks; alternate Fridays saw a pair of pyjamas as well. The sheet was intended to last two weeks, the first on top, the second on the bottom, and the PJs for two weeks in succession. The remaining intimate garments were intended to last a week, with the option, rarely exercised, of drawing further items from the Linen-Room store if absolutely necessary.

According to DH, almost everyone in his uncle's dormitory of some thirty boys went commando under their PJs, with no forced ventilation or air conditioning!

Is this the sort of environment that inspired your DH's preferred night attire? And having "spilled the beans", as it were, on DH, what about your own good self?

I do recycle but don't do any of the rest of those things. It is possible to not wear pjs for an entire week without washing them and also not wash everything after a single wear.

That's exactly the sort of pjs I meant. Mostly Marvel or DC or most recent addition was the Cookie Monster (on a kid who has never seen Sesame St) My 17 and 20 yos and apparently their friends all wear them too. Straight into them after school/college/work if they aren'tgoing back out. "Santa" delivers new pjs too and everyone in my family for our large Christmas gathering has at least one pair of Christmas pjs.

A few years back, grown men came to work in onesies on casual days. Hard to believe so many don't know men who wear pjs.

Husbands boyfriend's sons etc is who people are referring to. And even dads. My dad used to put on a dressing gown to come out of the bedroom in the night

Similarly, DP and I sleep naked and have clothes for wearing 'around bed' when visiting people

Just thinking about it my mum had 4 kids and washed once a week. Knickers in bed alone would mean two pairs a day each times 6 people times 7 days 😳 ! 84 pairs a week good grief ! That definitely didn’t happen . Washing day was an all day event, twin tub that drained into the sink . Long wooden tongues lifting sodden washing into the dryer. Tuesday was ironing day. We are so lucky with our automatic machines. Not surprisingly we re wore things more than once !

Amazed I got to the bottom of page two without a mention of the quintessentially Mumsnet “poo particles” but I did skim read.

But no pants and in pyjamas for at least six hours a night x 7 is too much, yes. I will wear PJs for a couple of nights if I wear knickers under them. I also shower every night just before bed. I’ll get my coat…

But, yes, wearing the same PJs, without pants, for a week, is really disgusting.

I’m now wondering if I could grow myself with longer legs and a smaller bust ?

Because it means replying to each & every poster I/anyone finds funny & no one has time for that or wants to see 30x a replies quoting just to laugh & clogging up the thread

@CypressMoon someone got their knickers in a twist ages ago & thought the laughter emoji meant people were spitefully laughing at them/others rather than taking it in the spirit in which it was intended.. I usually just use the heart emoji now

My late OH had 'visiting pjs' for when he had to go to the bathroom during the night in someone else's house!
