To wish the rubbish was collected once a week in this heat?

I know it won't happen but it stinks dosent it.
Wheelie bins get so filthy too.

Every 2 weeks black, every two weeks green.

What are black and green? One general waste and one recycling presumably? Everywhere has different coloured bins...we don't know what your black bin is for!

Are you willing to pay more council tax for that to happen though?

If that's to me, no I'm not but we always used to have weekly waste collections .

How often is your food waste collected as that's all I would expect to smell. Ours is weekly, general waste and recycling is fortnightly so we don't have a problem.

Our food waste is collected weekly, recycling and general waste fortnightly.
We get the bin cleaning people in monthly, our bins sit down the side of our house and we noticed at times (before we had the bin cleaning people) that occasional bin wafts would make their way to us sitting in the garden!
I do notice a lot of bin smells when I’m out and about though; it can’t really be helped unless people that don’t want to pay to get them cleaned do so themselves and who has the inclination to do that regularly?

Recycling and general waste bins are alternate weeks. Still waiting for the food recycling bins. Its being rolled out in my area but no idea when

QuaintBeaker · 06/08/2026 17:31

We still have weekly collections here but I quite often only have one bag of waste so I leave it until the next week. Not noticed my bin being particularly smelly or dirty.

Theworldsgonemadagain · 06/08/2026 17:30

We still have weekly collections for general waste. Recycling is two weekly.

I buy wheelie bin liners, not overly expensive, think around £2.60 for 10 from Tesco which isn’t to bad and they keep my bin clean.

My bin went out today, fortnightly collection and TBH it doesn't smell, never normally does.

Not at all

All you can smell is stinky bins, everywhere you do.
