To ask where the Con Carne went?

When I was a kid chilli was always described with a con carne, and most chillis back then were meat based.

As the years have worn on, the con carne has slowly disappeared. I rarely see it now.

Where did it go? Am I just not paying attention? And more importantly, what’s Andy Burnham doing about it?

Perhaps they are not sure if it's with meat or not. And is that meat identifiable as meat. 🤔

It would be clearer to have Chilli con carne, and chilli non carne to differentiate for vegans and vegetarians

I’ve just told the kids I’ve popped a chilli con carne in the slow cooker for tea tonight, having with jacket potatoes.

Maybe chilli no longer identifies as con carne?

Clearly the case of not quite knowing what it is in the days now of meat free mince that tastes like meat, and or just vegetable chilli.
