AIBU to think an Edinburgh festival show about Meredith Kercher's murder should be stopped?

No, she wasn’t. I haven’t seen the Netflix documentary, but I have seen the judgement of the court in which they entirely clear her, declare her to be innocent and state that there is absolutely no evidence that she committed the murder.

Nope- AK was definitely involved in the murder - if you remember the original trial and the evidence against her. However she has a Netflix doc and more which skews public opinions toward her in a positive way.

Talk about it, yes. But to blatantly monetise a young woman’s murder through books and a ‘comedy’ show? Definitely not. Knox loves the attention and the money.

I’m trying to say this without being rude, but do you know the difference between ‘can’ and ‘can’t’? The poster said ‘I can get my head around them reacting as they have’, not that they can’t.

Her family have reacted in the way they have because they are upset about the show. How else should they express their upset in a way that poster can get their head around it?!

Well I've signed the petition. You have to wonder why she wants to keep herself in the spotlight so much. She absolutely is trying to make herself the victim and shows a disgusting lack of empathy for Meredith's siblings.

I think she’s entitled to talk about her experience & she has done so a number of times so I agree with the above.

Amanda Knox was not involved in the murder. She is innocent. Same as her boyfriend at the time, Raffaele Sollecito.

Rudy Guede is the murderer. No one else.

She ‘got off’ because she didn’t commit the crime. , not because she was white and pretty. She was completely exonerated, but only after she spent years in prison for a crime she didn’t commit. The ‘black guy’ did commit the crime. He was convicted not because he was black, but because he was a murderer. He was sentenced to 16 years for murder, but only served 12.

Yes yes, it's a shame poor Rudy Guede was dragged in and forced to murder a woman by that evil temptress isn't it. He's an innocent victim here.

I do think it’s in bad taste, but I don’t think it can be banned.

I’m surprised that she wants to be in the public eye talking about this and doing a comedy show about it. I do have some sympathy in the sense, when it happened, I remember thinking who is this evil woman. I now realise that she was only 19 or 20 when this was going on I think. That is so young, younger than my children are now. That did spark a twinge of sympathy in me for the way she was treated by the media.

I do think it’s a hugely insensitive show to perform and it certainly makes me think less of her. But I don’t think it should be stopped, and it won’t be .

As plenty of others have said, it's not a comedy show about the murder, it's about her own experience of being falsely convicted and imprisoned. She was very clearly not guilty.

I remember when Meredith was killed. It was awful. She's not here to talk. The pretty American white girl was always going go get off.
The black guy however..
AK can spin any story she wants. Meredith doesn't have a voice. Her poor family are having to go through the trauma of having that nasty girl who was definitely involved somehow in her death make money.
It sickens me that AK is making a show out of this- she has not a good bone in her.

Amanda Knox doesn't care about Meredith's family at all - she wouldn't have made this if she had any compassion for the pain they are going through.

This is all about Amanda. She has said she did this for her daughter to highlight violence against women. She could have made this in a general way but no, she has insensitively dragged Meredith's murder into it.

Just watched the interview with her on the Channel 5 news. She is prickly, unlikeable and irritated by the criticism she has upset the Kercher family. Her insensitivity is palpable.

Yes, the complaints about her making money would land better if any of them took into account what false imprisonment, trial by media, ongoing Internet circus complete with truthers for many years after she was declared innocent and PTSD do to a person's general employment and earning options.

Plenty of oddballs still think she is guilty, despite a lengthy legal process and exoneration. People continue to believe that she was cartwheeling around when she was stretching after days of incarceration. The title isnt ‘disgusting’ - it’s illustrating one of the many untruths that live on in the public mind
