To ask your ultimate wedding guest scandal?

At my first wedding my Scottish relatives were thoroughly drunk and one lifted his kilt just as my nan was walking past him. She grabbed his penis and walked him to the bar by it.

The marriage is void regardless. Are they not worried it will be found out and theyll be charged?

A girl I knew changed her mind about getting married but her dad was terminally ill and her mum said "don't tell him just do it" so they did. They spent the night in separate rooms then had the marriage annulled soon after. He died a few weeks later never knowing the truth.

And they married anyway and went on to have children?

At a friends wedding reception one of the other guests took a shine to the outdoor furniture at the venue. They put two of the wooden patio chairs in their car and drove home. The venue had to call the newlyweds and tell them that the guest had been seen on CCTV stealing them. They were returned.

I don't know much more tbh. Just that there was a huge row. They decided not to get an anullment.

Genuine story

I went to a wedding at a very posh London hotel where two of the guests got absolutely wasted and were practically shagging on a sofa in one of the vestibules outside the main reception area.

they were both married to other people and apparently the bloke had a massive crush on the bride. One of the bridesmaids had to go and physically pull them apart before someone less tolerant caught them at it.

So sad - but in those tragic circumstances perhaps it’s consoling that he died in a moment of happiness and fulfilment.☹️

Saddest story ever. I work in a building that has a registry office in it. Wedding was going on upstairs. Then we heard sirens and a lot of commotion. Bride and groom decided to get married after years of living together as groom had a terminal illness. Sadly he took a heart attack before the vows and was pronounced dead at scene.

I didn't know about wearing red to a wedding. What should I think in this situation.

Yeah this is the thing @Ansells. Indian weddings are usually big events with lots of days of celebrations. So you might buy a lehenga and wear it to the event that’s for the families to meet and blessings etc. but you wouldn’t be wearing all the stuff you wear to the actual marriage ceremony. So it’d be a ‘wedding lehenga’ but you could wear it again, if that makes sense.

But, you wouldn’t (unless you’re like the women who have turned up to others western weddings in a white lace gown with a train) turn up wearing your actual red and gold wedding clothes and all your wedding jewellery (which, again, is specific). If you do that, it’s weird and Op is right to think so! I have only known one person to do this and she is pretty nuts (and was clearly bitter that she wasn’t the one getting married!)

I have some funny stories from my wedding though- DH wore the same morning coat he wore the first time around, because it was the only one he had and his parents did not give us a wedding gift because they had 'spent enough' on a gift the first time too. I was so thrilled to be marrying DH that I didn't care. 22 years this year. And I got on great with his parents who were really terrific and his dad actually left me his house when he sadly died so i guess I can overlook the wedding present thing.I absolutely adored my FIL, in case that bit wasn't clear.

1980's - My older (and always broke) sister asked to borrow my dressy black trouser suit (short jacket with satin collar and cropped skinny leg trousers) and wore it to our younger sisters big Catholic Church wedding. I copped some of the rage for lending it, younger sister has been known to bring this up on several occasions.

A cousin got married and there were a number of people from his university "friends group" several of which were couples - after a few drinks it became obvious that they'd all shagged each other at various times and that there was lots of unresolved stuff around who finally ended up with who ending in a massive row.

It would make a good episode of Two Doors Down I think!

At my cousins wedding 2 of my aunts. One blood and one married in, had an argument in the toilets. The married in aunt is an utter cow and had always hated blood aunt. It became physical, hair pulling etc.
I was stuck in a cubicle.

Only some of the men were in kilts and others said no but she was furious at my friends husband as he was the best man !
Bride was a bit batshit. When she felt there wasn't enough attention on her she pretended to faint and had to be carried around the rest of the evening.
They are now divorced.
