To ask your ultimate wedding guest scandal?

Went to the 3rd wedding of the groom. He was nearly 60. Bride was late 30's.
His speech included joking about the baby oil he was going to use on his new bride and where he was putting it.
Her parents were sitting on the front row.

The groom's son from his first wife got blind drunk, heckled during the vows then grabbed his dad's car keys and drove his car into that of another guest. I should add that his parents had been divorced for 10 years and the bride only met him 2 years ago.

My mother in law wore a long white gown to my wedding!!!!

Wedding reception in a village hall. Bridesmaid and best man had sex in the kitchen after the caterers had cleaned up and left. Bridesmaid somehow sat in the leftover wedding cake during the act.

I was not aware until many years after my wedding that one of my husband’s friends had drunkenly threatened my brother-in-law. He was quietly dealt with by the best men and proceeded to go home and be very sick (red wine) all over another friend’s bathroom.

Went to a wedding when I was with my ex. It was his friend who I knew fairly well but I'd only met the bride a handful of times. The bride was a classic bridezilla and everything had to be absolutely perfect.

I wore a blue floral print dress from M&S with a cream jacket and shoes. Another lady who I'd never met before was wearing the same dress but with a navy jacket and shoes. We laughed about the dress and said it was bound to happen with M&S. Neither of us was that bothered about it.

Bride had a complete meltdown about it at the reception when we'd removed our jackets and she noticed we were both in the same dress. She was sobbing saying it spoiled the aesthetics. I still have no idea what she meant.

I'm not Indian but always liked the idea of the bride in red so I wore red to my own wedding but I had slept with the groom😂.

I once went to a wedding where the mother of the bride and another guest were wearing exactly the same outfit, dress, jacket, hat. It came from a posh dress shop in our local town 🫣

At my cousin's wedding (she was the bride) the groom got really drunk and flirted with all the cousins, told the bride's uncles he'd made a mistake, snogged the bridesmaid on the dance floor and threw up on the dj.

My mother found my exDH’s brother having sex in the toilets during the reception. Of a small venue.

At a Reception in a marquee (well, big gazebo) in a back garden in Ilford a neighbour was invited. He started chatting people up and inviting them to his house. Eventually about 4 women were in his house two doors down having group sex. One of them came back over the garden fence and urged me to join them (I didn't). They were all climbing through the gardens all afternoon.

One of them had an autistic son who was distressed because he couldn't find his Mum and badly bashed another kid on the head. Everyone was saying 'where's his Mum?' and I had to explain she was away having sex with the guy from 2 doors down, Then she came back and the mother of injured child attacked her.

In my wild 20s, at a friend wedding … it was hotel, I had a room. In the afternoon I snuck off with my ex and shagged him, later in the evening shagged his cousin …

The father of the bride was known to have a drink problem. During the ceremony, he objected at the "any lawful impediment" part 😮

Turns out he'd been at the hip flask beforehand and thought it was the "Who giveth this woman?" part.

I have never heard that about red and green (and I’m in my 60s). I can see that it is sensible for a guest not to wear red to an Indian wedding, but otherwise I can’t see a problem.

I seem to remember hearing years ago that it used to be considered unlucky to wear green, but that was only if you were the bride.

Mother of a friend of mine had had a few drinks and went to the loo. when she came back to the hall Grace after Dinner was being said so, in order to be inconspicuous, she crawled across the dance floor (in her evening dress).

A friends wedding. A guest’s boyfriend (plus 1) took cocaine in the toilets then vandalised the outside of the venue and got escorted off the premises by venue management. Thankfully bride and groom were unaware until the next day.

In my early twenties I went to my first wedding and wore a 50s style black dress covered in little pictures of red cherries with green leaves. Wore it with red accessories and thought I looked very cool and retro.

Found out on the day that the bride’s family was very traditional, and strongly believed that wearing black to a wedding meant that you were mourning it, wearing red meant you’d previously slept with the groom, and wearing green meant that you were envious of the wedding.

Add to that the fact that I wore pictures of cherries (and cherry earrings) and they concluded that I’d lost my virginity to the groom, wished I was marrying him, and had chosen to publicly announce these facts through my outfit.

I have been very careful with wedding guest outfits since then!

Someone wore a white lace dress to a wedding after she was specifically asked not to by the groom. Things were already awkward as she’d previously slept with the groom (prior to the bride and groom meeting) and the bride didn’t want her there to begin with.

My now ex husband and I were sat in a table
ot all his friends and their partners. One friend had a new girlfriend and my ex said loudly she’s lovely I’d like to bang her. It caused a huge row between the men and an awkward day thereafter ( all the men on that table and the groom had slept around on the stag do I discovered years later)

At a lot of weddings, black, white and red are out as colours. When I moved to England, I was told that wearing red to a local wedding meant you'd slept with the groom-I hadn't heard that before. Others have already said why most guests won't wear red to an Indian weddings, but you should also avoid white and black.
OP, you want examples of shocking guests:
One guest licked the bride's face.
The groom's father demanded a different meal a week before the wedding-the couple had sent invitations asking for any dietary requests, and he didn't have allergies/religious needs, just wanted his own way.
He pulled a non-related woman to the floor to dance-when the couple were doing their first dance.
A member of the bridal party changed her baby's nappy at the top table (no reason she couldn't have gone to the toilets).
Bridesmaids turned up really late.
Woman turned up with 3 kids and let them scream throughout the ceremony.
Not all the same wedding, obviously!
