BF and I have been together for 5+ years. We don't live together but in the last year I've spent a lot more time at his home due to family circs, often staying there when he's away.
BF often works overseas for up to a month, has done for years. He has security cameras in the house; 2 external and 2 internal, near the entry points; this means one in the living room and one at the back of the house where he's set up an office space for me.
If I'm staying there he turns them off when I arrive, and there's a light on them when they're active so I can tell if they're on or not. He also turns them on to check before he rings me in case I'm working or in bed (he often works shifts and with time differences etc it can be early mornings) There isn't a camera in the bedroom, just for clarity - if I'm not in the living room he just assumes I'm still in bed.
A friend came to visit me when I was at his house and said she thought the cameras were creepy and that it would make her uncomfortable. It's never bothered me - AIBU to ignore her?
