Barking. Dog every night at around 11pm

Every night 11pm or so neighbours let their dog out to bark in their garden. All neighbours get disturbed by it. No early nights for anyone round here. Aibu?

Yeah that’s not on. An hour is absolutely ridiculous regardless of the time of day. Even in the middle of the day I wouldn’t allow my dog to bark in the garden for longer than a minute. She’s brought straight back inside if she doesn’t stop.
Your neighbours are inconsiderate wankers.

Solidarity. My neighbours dog regularly wakes me. Are the neighbours the type you can speak to? Would you consider going to the council if the neighbours don't sort it perhaps as a joint force with your other suffering neighbours?

I look after dogs, and don't let them bark in the garden no matter what the time is. My immediate neighbour was stunned when she found out I do dog boarding and daycare as she had barely heard a peep.

What your method please?

Solidarity, OP! I like my neighbour... but I am not a fan of her dogs. They bark constantly whenever they are outdoors (usually up to an hour a time) and it ramps up if they see a person or another animal. Neighbour is a night owl and I need to be up early, so I am often woken by her dogs. I am sometimes woken by them at the weekends. If I am listening to music or watching something, or just trying to concentrate, I usually have to put it to one side until the dogs have gone indoors again. Then there is a block of kennels on the next farm... the noise from which has been awful to try to sleep through during the heatwave.

It's draining, isn't it? If one of my dogs so much as barks, they are brought inside, immediately.

I was wondering this. I honestly feel like getting up at 5 a.m. every morning and running down my garden yelling for 5 minutes, I am so tired.

But, I don't think this is the answer.

Some days for an hour, some days for 5 or so minutes as it runs about the garden.

The thing is that I am tired.

The weather is very hot and I would like to set my own bedtime, have my windows open and not have next doors dog wake me up.. AIBU?

To add, when it barks all the neighbours dogs join in too...it's like living next to a kennels when that kicks off.

Edited to say it is not an exact time every night. Guessing it is just before their bedtime.

There’s a big difference between a church clock and a barking dog. Your choice to move next to it, for a start.

How long does it bark for? Do they let it out quickly to toilet or is it out there for a prolonged period?

If it's the same time every night, YAB a bit U. The church near my house chimes every quarter hour with the Westminster Quarters tune. It's bloody deafening. But, like everyone living near a regular disturbance, my neighbours and I sleep through it after the first few weeks.

Sometimes it glitches and plays a different tune - that wakes me up!
