AIBU to go to Italy on my own?

Would I be unreasonable to go to Italy on my own for a week on a language course? I’ve been thinking about doing one once the kids were older and going for two weeks or even longer, but I really want to go sooner! Obviously I can’t go for longer right now but a week would still be amazing. Kids are 10 and 13.

Not at all! I went abroad on my own for a writing course and it was fabulous.

We don’t have kids but Mr Scarlett has been away solo most years on a hobby trip.

It would be fair for your DH to have a week to himself without kids at some point, too - he may not be bothered.

As long as you aren't leaving the children to fend for themselves and the cost doest take up for food budget for the month what would be the reasons not to go?

Thanks everyone. Yes, there is a competent adult at home and can afford it. I don’t think DH would be bothered about me going actually, I just always thought about doing it when the kids were quite a bit older. It only just occurred to me that I could do it sooner!

I’ve had a lot of solo holidays in Italy & they’ve all been brilliant.

I haven’t encountered any people traffickers so far, I just take the same precautions I’d take at home in London.

Firstly what have extreme day trips got to do with anything

Secondly WTF about people trafficking? OP is going on holiday to Italy, not Outer Mongolia using overland caravans and shady characters.

Sorry should have made myself clear! DH will be home. Just never really considered doing this before, we always go on holiday together or just away for a night of two.
