Should personalised Christmas stockings be M & D for mummy and daddy, or their actual initials?

I think M & D DH thinks actual initials of our names. Kids are aged 1 and 4!

Actual name initials. Not M & D. I wouldn't be averse actual "Mum" and "Dad" or whatever though.

Names. My XH used to call me 'mum' all the time and it drove me up the wall. I used to say 'I have a NAME, you know,' through very gritted teeth.

I’m bucking the trend, but if your reason is to have them as nice Christmas decorations, all lined up together, for a cosy family Christmas, then I think “mum” and “dad” (rather than M and D) would be quite nice!

Me too, I hung ours above rhe fire, was lovely, with mum and dad. But I’d not do m and d. that’s weird,

Even if you call each other mum and dad in front of the kids, they should learn that your real names are “Julia” and “Tom” even if you tend to call each other things like “babe”

Don’t know about OP but I and children (teens) fill DH stocking, him and children fill mine. Whichever one of their children my parents stay with for Christmas will fill there’s. Stockings are the best bit of Christmas and it’s never too early to talk about them!!

I have the stocking my mum made for me as a child so has my name on it. She then made one for each grandchild for their first Christmas. We love our stockings, best part of Christmas. My mum realised last year she never made stockings for her children in law so this year she’s making those! I’ve been married 20 years so not sure why now but it makes her happy and it’ll be nice to have all matching!

I have never had names on stockings the presents inside had their names on. Only for the children as well. Adult presents are not from Father Christmas they just went under the tree. Same as the ones from other family members.

If your dc are tiny it's probably hard to imagine that in a few years they will see you as the person you are, not just as mum and dad.

First name initials unless there’s a duplicate in which case all initials (if you are as silly as my parents and all the initials are the same, first names) but i wouldn’t do stockings for parents
