AIBU to think it’s a bit hypocritical that people are protecting her when she’s visibly unwell, saying that commenting on her body is wrong, but people take free reign to comment on plus size women’s bodies?!

No it’s still wrong, shes a person not a group of weight objects for your judgement. Your comment reads a bit silly really, why do you think her being visibly unwell means it’s ok to comment on that? It doesn’t help her, it will obviously make her feel worse, so why should it be ok to make this stranger feel worse about her own body?

The discourse has been pretty much all along the lines of “she needs serious help and she’s dying in front of us”

When a plus size woman just posts on social media her comments will be flooded with hatred

Lots of people stay private when losing weight. Then they reappear a lot thinner. I'm rewatching ER, that's what Yvette Freeman did. On the Sopranos a few of the men wore fat suits, until they'd lost all the weight they wanted. AG might be physically unwell, but her MH is what is under protection. Both can cause the death of a person. Would you rather her be hounded to death?

I agree with what you are saying. I experienced nothing but sympathy (and, in some quarters, admiration) when I was anorexic.
It was a sharp contrast when I gained weight (due to steroids, but most people wouldn't have known that) and faced nothing but nasty comments and judgement

They absolutely do. All you have to do is look at threads on here when they decry people who are plus size, look at the comments under any post of a plus size woman on social media.
