I think she became much more public after the bombing and I’m sure the affects of the bombing are the catalyst for a lot of what we see.

I think because it was all so public it makes people
think they have more right to comment on it. I don’t agree but people are genuinely worried.

She was amazing afterwards towards her fans and now her fans want to protect her.

I think she doesn't talk about it openly but that doesn't mean she was unbothered. She met most (if not all) of the families of the deceased. I think that alone would have an impact.

Her fans are protecting her. The rest of the comments are very bloody extreme so I don't really know what you're going on about. Obviously her team will be trying to filter out the hate comments on her own page but her appearance has been very heavily commented on elsewhere.

She’s clearly physically and mentally very unwell, and has been for several years. Not helped by coming under the influence of toxic people like Cynthia Erivo, who promotes this image of being oh so lovely, but I find her calculating, manipulative and disingenuous. There was all that weird insinuation she did about their ‘relationship’ around the time of the Wicked film.

Hopefully AG’s management can get her into rehab now but you have to wonder why the actual families never step in earlier to intervene with these celebrities who are obviously spiralling out of control.

Tbh im not sure she was affected that much by it. Good that she did a tribute concert, but I'm sure I read she didn't hear about for a while as she was on her way to the next venue and PR team issued a statement without her input.

I agree that being underweight is serious and can cause long term damage. But it’s rather flippant to suggest the only drawbacks to being overweight are running for a bus and being less conventionally attractive. There are many health issues connected with being overweight; increased risk of Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure to name a few.

Wasn't Kelly O 'normal size' for a long time before she became unwell and became gaunt. Why do people always assume its medication causing extreme weight loss and not another illness.

I agree. And I wonder if next year being the tenth anniversary is currently plaguing her.

Absolutely. I’m sure some people forget it was at her concert this happened. That’s going to haunt her forever.

Because being underweight is more serious than being overweight. If you’re overweight you might struggle with running for the bus and look less conventionally attractive. If you’re severely underweight then you’re at risk of organ failure.

@PurpleDisco it's very likely that being that skinny is a symptom of being unwell. The two are often very closely related!

Op isn't suggesting that Ariana should face attacks and nastiness.
Just asking why the same kindness and concern isn't extended to celebs (and ordinary people) who gain weight as a result of trauma /stress /etc

I feel nothing more than the upmost sympathy for her, I hope she is surrounded by good people giving her the support she needs.

I don’t think anyone should be commenting on anyone else’s body but she’s is obviously unwell.

Whether that’s from an ED or AIDs or something is unclear but I’m guessing those around her are aware and trying to help her.

There has always been more sympathy for those with ED if it means they are skinny.

If you have an ED which means you cannot stop eating and become obese, then apparently it’s ok to be mocked and bullied but if you have one where you don’t eat or be sick and you lose weight then apparently you get concern and sympathy.

Forgetting body image I feel concern for Ariana and always have due to what happened in Manchester, I think that had to do damage psychologically….

I do think it’s odd that we have people in the public eye who often have a very young fan base and it’s become wrong to point out they have an eating disorder.

There is a chance that some comments about how she looks visibly unwell could fuel and encourage her ED, which feeds off that sort of "validation".

I have had and recovered from anorexia, and my Mum has had it for 40+ years - it is an absolutely awful condition and I would not wish it on my worst enemy.

Anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric condition. I really hope that she gets the help that she needs. That said, help isn't always helpful if that person isn't ready to accept their condition - my Mum never has been and will continue to live with it until it kills her.

Whilst I don't think people commenting on her weight is appropriate, often with an ED there does need to be some sort of shock or wake-up call that leads someone to want to enter recovery, and maybe this is that? I'm unsure, but either way I really hope this is the beginning of her recovery.

She’s never been plus sized though, I think that’s why it’s so worrying. When other celebs have clearly abused ozempic and look gaunt e.g Kelly Osbourne, it’s more shocking because they have been bigger in the past. Ariana Grande has always been very slim, now she is clearly on deaths door with a severe ED. You don’t need to be a medical professional to find her appearance concerning.

She has been visibly unwell for some time and I sincerely hope she is taking steps to get better.
