Dh changes when a full moon

Not in a werewolf way and i’m not a woo type of person, but I’ve noticed a few times (going to have to start writing it down) that on the build up
to a full moon, he can be very moody and not nice sometimes and the day after-few days after, he’s back to himself, but much nicer-kinder

It’s happened too many times now to feel like a coincidence

Am I the one going mad?

I was a midwife for many years. I don't care if the research doesn't back it up, the busiest, maddest nights were always when there was a full moon.

I read that when I was pg with DC 3 (now 26) and told then DH. He suggested it was because amniotic fluid was tidal, which I have to admit I find funny!

Ohhh, I get that too. I have known for 2 days the rain was coming and possibly thunder because my head has been thumping. Massive downpour (got caught in it and bloody soaked).
Guess what? I feel so much better...hope theres a wee bit more tomorrow (after i get my washing in 🤭.)

Yeah I call them "pressure headaches", my mother gets them too. They are not like normal headaches.

My mum had severe dementia and spent her last few months in a care home. Both of the floor managers told me several times that they dreaded the full moon each month because it affected the residents’ behaviour and mood so significantly.

My inappropriate hair growth is due to PMOS (formerly known as PCOS) but the lack of sleep during the full moon might just make me go howl at it someday. It's not something I have tried yet.

@Flannelfeet I'm with you on the headaches too! I love thunderstorms because of the pressure release they bring. Can you smell incoming snow too by any chance?

@Touristtrainstuffedtothebrim Is he struggling with sleep? It is more common than you would think for the full moon to cause insomnia and the resulting irritability. There have been threads on here about it, obviously it's mostly women's experience. Close friend is a psychiatric nurse and he struggles to sleep at the same time, while dealing with the most volatile cases at work.

Yeah my siblings mental health gets worse in the build up to a full moon. My dog too seems affected

Same here, when the air pressure is altered. Like I’m very tightly wrapped, head to toe, in clingfilm. Same feeling inside my skull.
When significant rain is approaching, my right leg aches to the point of my almost weeping.

(This began in childhood, when all the paediatricians in London my mother dragged me to see asserted that this was ‘growing pains’. Since it was my right leg alone, I was convinced that only that limb would keep growing)

I feel irritable and morose in the week or so before and then a lifting and light at soon as the moon is full. As I said, it’s almost like a period cycle although I haven’t had one of those for years.

I work in the emergency services and a full moon sends people mad. It's always a worse shift on a full moon.

so many personal experiences here verifying.

Also this full moon was a big one, sun conjunct jupiter exactly opposite moon conjunct pluto. if you know your astrology you'll know how intense that would be!

I think we're more affected by the natural environment than most people realise.
I often get a migraine when there's a dramatic change in air pressure.
DM was a school dinner lady and she said that the pupils were a lot more boisterous when it was windy.

The wind thing in school playgrounds definitely happens! It really skitches them up!

My ex worked in a psychiatric hospital and they always mentioned things were different during a full moon, with patient moods seemingly affected.

My grandad’s mood seemed heavily affected by the moon. He was intolerable during a full moon. Without fail. Like clockwork. The dog used to abscond during a full moon too. Both Cancers. Neither werewolves.

The theory I heard is that the moon and sun control the tides and so obviously at a full moon they will affect human brains which are around 75% water.

the moon isn't changing it's mass tho... only what's visible. the thing that's changing is the amount of light reflected off the moon onto us.

the moon does affect tides but that doesn't have anything to do with how much of the moon we can see.

I totally believe in this. Had the most awful argument with my best friend. It has only happened 2 times before in years, both on full moons. All ok afterwards but oh my, it was heartbreaking at the time, just thinking about it is painful

I believe you. The full moon effect is real - my team is a central function, we can tell when it’s full moon because the rest of the company goes noticeably whacky and for a few days it becomes an entertaining chaos.

The tides are affected because they are huge bodies of weighty water acting on the gravity of a huge dense body coming closer to it. The water in our cells doesn't move around with the tides. Even if it did, tides are constantly changing, not just once a month. You'd see this in glasses of water far more than you would in a person's cells.

In nature it largely has minuscule effects - as far as I can tell, the biggest is the increased light causing creatures to try and avoid predation.
