Dh changes when a full moon

My family were convinced my Granddad was affected by the moon in exactly the way you have seen. I totally believe this was what happened with my Grandad as it was always obvious in his behavior and everyone commenting on it.

I work in a sen school. When High winds are coming or a full moon we as staff just know by the behaviour changes of pupils.

I can "sense" when a thunderstorm is coming and when I was a child used to get bad headaches. That's different though because there is a very real change in air pressure plus the air is usually full of moisture so feels heavy and sticky. I think it's just responding to surrounding changes our bodies definitely are capable of picking up.
It's possible that the full moon also causes changes that people pick up and are affected by. It's just that there isn't any known physical mechanism by which that can happen and not enough data showing a change outside of anecdote. So it sits in the "possibly real possibly wooo" box for now.

Knowing a thunderstorm because you can pick up on the air pressure changes is coming is similar to knowing there is a full moon because you can see it in the sky. Maybe not that much actually because not everyone is as sensitive. But it's definitely a thing.

Nope! It's true. I was a nursing home manager for many years, caring for dementia sufferers, full moon was always when confusion and aggression ramped up.

Another Teacher here and can confirm it is a thing as PP said. A windy full moon day is a double nightmare!

It's even daft if you ignore the data and start from the premise "well the phases of the moon affect the tides" - because the moon's impact on the tides is stronger on a new moon than it is on a full moon.

But, of course, you don't generally see the moon when it's a new moon, and it doesn't have the same degree of mythology attached to it, so it doesn't trigger people's confirmation bias the same way.

My Uncle (donkeys years ago) was described as Moonie because he changed and became more moody and aggressive with the full moon - I seem to remember as a child it was a ‘known thing’ for people, mainly men, to be moonie.

I think the moon affects behaviour (teacher here too) and so does windy weather. I was really emotional on Wednesday, quite unlike me, and it was full moon then. Just one small example.

There is loads of research on the topic, spanning decades. It just doesn't support the claims of moon-induced behavioral changes.

Large studies have shown no statistical pattern connecting lunar phases to total crime volume.

This is absolutely a thing, o noticed it in my teenager and when talking about it to a friend who is a policeman he said the cells will be full on a full moon brings the crazy’s out, other friend who is a teacher said she can absolutely tell when it’s about to be a full moon all the kids especially sen are affected in her experience

My mum is bipolar and a colleague noticed that her difficult episodes happened around full moons. Id not realised but now do...and if she is going to be difficult with me, it does tend to be full moons. Eg.at moment...

My late dear dad spent the last 4 years in care. The carers told me that a lot of the residents became difficult at full moon. There is also a condition known as sun downing - people with dementia become unsettled at sunset.

If your logic were correct, there would be few or no studies on this, but it's not that the studies haven't been done! They have been done, across anthropology, sociological, criminology, psychiatry etc, and they overwhelmingly show no evidenced link between higher crime, higher violence, higher psychiatric admissions and the other correlations claimed by superstition and folk belief.

I work with animals and the full moon definitely impacts their behaviour. Just as they're often impacted by the air pressure before a storm, for example.

It's definitely a "thing" to be impacted by your environment.

I was a medical scientist. (Ie worked in the lab) overdoses def went up during a full moon and so we’d put more reagent onto the machines to test for it. Most emergency services staff would probably agree that behaviours change too

i definitely believe the moon affects everything. If it affects the tides it affects us too.

People are absolutely affected by the moon it’s where the word lunatic comes from. I work dealing with anti social behaviour and its definitely busier when it’s a full moon!

If there's no money to be made from it, who is going to fund the research? It's usually drug companies doing the research. Just because there's been no research to say it's true, doesn't mean it isn't.

Yep I believe it’s a thing! One of my friends partners is like this! The kids at school their behaviour is worse around the full moon too! Throw in a windy day and wet play as well and it’s hell on earth!!
