This is where the trans movement has gone wrong. I know plenty of transwoman who know full well they remain men. They compete in men’s sports under their female name and are wholeheartedly accepted because they respect women enough to stay out. They use male changing rooms and are accepted wholeheartedly as they respect women enough to stay out.

This exactly. I can imagine your daughter failing A level biology in the future if she believes any of this nonsense so best to explain scientific reality.

Exactly. I'd explain to her the argument. If there is no such thing as binary sex then there can be no such thing as trans. Because obviously trans people are transitioning from one to the other or saying they are somewhere in the middle. If there is no binary I would have to ask then, "the middle of what?" By definition, the only way trans can exist is by there being a binary. Simples.

Women on the whole accept transwomen as transwomen, and are happy to leave them alone if they will accord us the same courtesy. That is not the same as accepting that they are actual women, any more then we accept that adult males are two-year-old females who wear nappies and suck dummies, or dogs, or glass teapots.

We generally don't accept six-year-old girls as ponies or six-year-old boys as dinosaurs, either, once some immediate game has ended; we don't feed the girls hay and bed them down in a stable, nor do for the boys whatever a tyrannosaurus rex requires for its bedtime routine.

People with DSDs (formerly known as intersex) are still either male or female.
There is no third sex.

Intersex people (who almost all dislike that outmoded name for them really quite a lot, especially since it is essentially inaccurate) are all either male or female, with differences in sex development which start from the base male or base female pattern laid down at conception.

Biology isn't objectively binary. Intersex people exist.

Miranda Yardley doesn't even have a Wikipedia page, let alone publicity, unlike so many trans rights activists. (Wikipedia was captured early.) The last thing I can find by her (or him; Miranda said he was a man in spite of having transitioned, at one point?) was in 2023.

Seethlaw seems to have worked out that trans rights activism is doing a lot of no good to a lot of people. But I wouldn't encourage standing up to be counted, really. Given the way TRAs behave, it's dangerous.

I am the mum of a trans identifying youth with younger children in secondary school My siblings and a number of close friends work in schools.
My experience so far is that some trans identifying kids change name more than once. Assuming the school doesn’t give it any attention the other kids seem to go along with it, may think it’s a bit ridiculous but no big deal. I don’t think there are any big announcements and summer holidays are a good opportunity to reset.

The deeply entrenched kids take years to desist/detransition. I think in these cases moving school might be an easier option than rolling back on years of transition.

Not seen a thing from them in years and social media is private. When I see some really egregious posts on Twitter or Blue Sky or signs being held up at marches and speeches being made from the stage, where’s the counter? Where is the trans charity or organisation that says we don’t agree with those guys over there giving us a bad name?!

@Kalalilydo you work in a secondary school or with young adults? I'm curious, what does actually happen to the kids who come out as trans or non binary in school. Do they announce a reversal or just skulk away embarrassed, I know some stick with it. I've often wondered this.
