It may be all talk but at least someone is actually talking about social care. And freezing out private investors who are hoovering up money from adults’ and children’s care homes. Burnham is right that politicians of all colours should be ashamed it’s taken so long and gotten so bad.

No I’m not impressed so far. What about some reduction or cap on my train fares, a £4500
payout for me would’ve been nice for my daughter going to uni that doesn’t have to be paid back - she commutes from home so all my costs are the same as before, I’d like to see some idea of where this spending on a small part of society is coming from whilst the rest of us continue with extortionate train fares and being squeezed for every penny we earn before I say he’s doing a job job

If I was Keir Starmer I would be incensed because he tied himself in knots and made decisions that were unpopular (,national insurance rise on businesses) to avoid just putting up taxes and here comes Burnham seemingly full of great ideas all of which will need funding through extra taxes from us all - unless people can see him getting funding in different ways?

Yes, it will be great if he can do the things he is promising but until he explains how he is going to fund them, what's the point?

And is it ok to just go against the manifesto promise not to raise tax?
Is everyone who voted Labour in hoping that they weren't going to be the usual "tax high, spend high" kind of Labour government going to be ok with this?

I think its because they have a high vote share, people think they are representative of a significant portion of the population, and erroneously believe this should give them influence. They don't seem to fully understand that power depends on seat share.

And why is that a bad thing? He is trying to reach the people of our country, all generations in as quick a timeframe as possible.

I'm no fan of social media but it's the right thing to do to make early impact. He can't be accused of spending months and months behind closed doors. He is starting to build his party's priorities around really important issues that haven't been addressed by successive government, not least of all Adult Social Care, which has been a political football for generations.

I've seen a couple of people say Reform should have been included. On what grounds? They have 7 MPs so are really a minority party. Would you like to include all parties with 7 or more MPs? So Sinn Fein and the SNP? And of course including Reform would need to not mean Farage since he's not an MP.

Right now all he’s talked about is spending money. Yes, for things that urgently need money spending on but we don’t have it as a country. I want to see where the growth is going to come from and how this is all going be funded or is this just another socialist utopian idea?

It doesn't bloody matter . It needs doing, if this is the way to get something politically unattractive but necesssary done (without getting voted out without it getting done) fair play to him for finding a way.

Its up to the party to set the rules on it. Labour and Tory require it. Greens obviously don't though.

I remember him on morning tv i think, wasn't he on good morning Britain as the on screen dr. Must admit I never realized he was now an M.P. what I am struggling to understand is why any of the media are giving time to someone who is not an elected M.P. as some one with out a seat in any other party Farage would have to step down as leader, but I suppose as he is the owner of the business the same rules don't apply to him

Reform have 7 members of parliament , they are not included for a reason and that is that they are not the largest parties. Nigel Farage has no say at the moment as he is not an M.P. and should not be included in any discussions
