To ask what year your car is?

Mine is a 2012 hatchback, I wanted something cheap, reliable, easy to run and cheap repair costs and I'm happy with what I've got. I seem to be in a friend circle with nothing older than 2020 which is tough where they all fawn over each other's car but I've made the correct choice for me. Which is yours?

Mine is a 2019 Kia Rio. First owner on motability. Car was top spec and had less than 4,000 miles on the clock. It was a bargain and is a great car. Will keep it till it dies. Had last car till it was 17 and fell apart.

I’m another of the buy a car 3-4 years old and run them into the ground - had current one 10 years done 210,000 miles and am expecting up to another 5 years before it becomes unviable
DP services and fixes so other than an MOT I’ve never had to pay a garage for any work

Mine is a 26 plate, my little boy's is a 25 plate.

Surely anyone who you call your ‘little boy’ is a child and not old enough to drive, let alone buy a car that’s a year old 🤣

That's a valuable and highly desirable motor car - I hope you have the right security arrangements for your pride and joy.

2021 , so 5 years old , one more year and hopefully I’ll get a new one , usually get a good deal on brand new !

They are all in excellent condition, low mileage, no issues. We never buy new, and always with cash.

I love that the majority on here have older cars, so much better for the environment.

Yes and the low mileage is a good thing.
As soon as you start buying a newer car they want to bump the insurance up too.

So car is back from the service and mot, mechanic said it’s like new. Ten years old and no way am i getting rid of it.

Expecting another 5 years or so from it. People have new cars because of the scam that is PCP.

Anything that brings someone joy is not a scam to them.

Personally, having a nice car is my motivation to get up for work. Nothing else motivates me. If I saw a car as a method to get from A to B I think I'd have tried a lot less hard in my career and paid a hell of a lot less tax

2023 (main family car)

All bought new.

Plus 2 motorbikes - 1999 and 2006, both bought at 3 years old.

Do you mind me asking if you have any recommended companies for leasing when you drive a lot?
I looked into it last time I was looking at cars and all the deals were for very low mileage (under 6k or 8k a year) when I tried to get quotes for higher mileage some just refused and some were higher than my mortgage!
I can link into the NHS scheme through work but only for fully electric vehicles, which is annoying as that wouldn't actually be possible in my job.

I use Volkswagen Financial Services with the deal through LeaseLoco. 20k a year on a Skoda EV was fairly reasonable
