What’s your favourite European city to visit?

Just to walk around, take in some nice sights and eat/drink.

I really enjoy Antwerp and Dinant. I find Belgians really friendly and easy to talk to.

I can’t pick as I like lots but in different ways - we lived in Copenhagen for 20 months so will always have a soft spot for it - loved Rome , Stockholm, Malmo, Malaga, Palma, Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Florence, Vienna, Munich - love London too -and as a real outlier I really really like Dusseldorf- fantastic upmarket shopping but lots of hipster funky stuff too , superb outdoor food market and outstanding oriental food ( biggest Japanese population in Europe- but lots of Chinese, Korean, Thai etc too)

Naples. I know it's a marmite place but I love it all - the views, the people, the graffiti, the chaos and especially the pizza Smile

Love Napoli too. I was unsure at first but gradually grew to love it as time went on and miss it dearly, would definitely go back in a flash.

Krakow is my favourite. I’ve hands down never felt as safe anywhere on earth as a solo female.

Thank you - I’m from Brussels although now living in Canada. My DD and DSis live in Brussels and my parents spend most of their time at their home on the Belgian coast.

London. It’s the world’s greatest city by a mile.

Apart from that, I like Munich, Donostia / San Sebastián & Sevilla (but not in summer, obv.)

Have done lots of these. Seville is my favourite. Tromso a close second in the winter.

Paris, I go back there as often as I can.
Valencia is relaxing but still loads to do.
Malaga was fantastic really buzzy and great food.
Verona I will be going back to. Easy to walk and travel and had an amazing couple of trips to Lake Garda.
Rome is iconic. It’s utterly soaked in history.

Seville and Florence are next on my list.

I haven't been to many European cities. We aren't big city break people. But of those I have been to I really liked Venice and Palma (Mallorca).

Yes! Clean, efficient, accessible, some fabulous architecture. It helps that my best friend also lives there but it is an amazing city, and close enough to Copenhagen for a day trip.

Not one of my absolute favourites but somewhat off the radar - Brescia. About as close to Lake Garda as Verona is, and worth visiting.

I don't think anywhere can really beat Rome for history.

Venice by a very long mile but have only visited outside the tourist season. Its especially magical at Christmas when all the shop windows are dressed. Italian window dressing is wonderful. I always felt safe there even at night in the narrowest alleys.

Also love Prague and Brussels. People say Belgium is boring but I don't agree. Brussels is a wonderful city for antiquing.

Seville, Prague or Madrid. I quite enjoy London when I go but it's way below these 3. Going to Rome in a few weeks so will see how that compares.

Amsterdam. I've been loads of time and never tire of it.

Plus it's one of the very few cities you can fly to from either of our local airports.

London is, and always will be, my favourite city. Born there and lived there for 40 years before (stupidly) moving away.

I also really like Ghent, Antwerp, Leiden, Berlin.
