To think Taylor Swift is a big meanie for not releasing just 1 photo of her in her wedding dress?

Before anyone says "maybe she just wants to keep her entire wedding - including dress - private"...

  1. She's made her whole career about her personal life

  2. Her fans are often young girls who idolise her. (I have 2 nieces age 10 and 12 who are really disappointed they have seen nothing).

  3. Said fans have made her a billionaire and essentially therefore paid for the huge wedding!

  4. It's been over 2 weeks since said wedding so plenty of time for her to have relaxed afterwards and then selected a single sodding photo to release

  5. It's not like she needs to sell the photos for money

I think it's quite mean of her tbh. It would be less bad if she TOLD these young fans either "you will see the dress in my forthcoming documentary" or "I've decided to keep it private". At lease then they would know.

I could not admire her as a self-focused businesswoman more. That’s what’s made her a billionaire.

Good on her for having a wedding on HER terms.

mysterytwister · 19/07/2026 23:47

The people who think they are on honeymoon are deluded. After the wedding they went to the billionaires playground for a few days (Yellowstone club), then to someone else's wedding. Now Travis is in Florida with his bros and Taylor is hiding out somewhere else like usual (possibly Rhode Island).

I genuinely don’t think it will. She announced the engagement, publicized the entire fucking MSG debacle, and has spent years turning her private life into a carefully scheduled marketing campaign, but now everyone is apparently supposed to pretend the wedding is sacred classified information because Princess Taylor has decided nobody may know anything.

She literally cannot do anything right can she? She will be criticised and slated for whatever she does. She got married where she wanted to, with the people she wanted. As she has every right to do.

murasaki · 19/07/2026 23:46

I quite like her, she can write a good tune, when it's not too self absorbed, is frankly incredibly media savvy, and monetises the shit out of people who are prepared to pay for whatever it is she's selling. More power to her elbow.

But she owes people nothing.

LondonLass2026 · 19/07/2026 23:43

I think kids need to learn that the world doesn't revolve around them. I'll never forget the absolutely sketchy and blurred video of Madonna's wedding to Sean Penn back in 1985. That's all we got as kids back then, and she was our total idol. Our parents just said "oh how nice, now go and do your homework". And we were delighted.

Kids aren't owed that sort of thing, and people need to stop the idea that they get to control everything adults do.

(and I cannot bear Taylor Swift)

likeitshard · 19/07/2026 23:43

Maybe given all the backlash she has received from the wedding she doesn’t feel like sharing her day

GiffGaffClapTrap · 19/07/2026 23:43

GallopingConsumption · 19/07/2026 22:25

William & Catherine released official portraits within HOURS of their wedding. Sounds like they didn't bother with much editing!

That was a broadcast event.

Seriously you sound unhinged.

Sherpaio · 19/07/2026 23:42

You don’t own her. She owes you nothing.

GiffGaffClapTrap · 19/07/2026 23:41

Oh it's been at least a week since the last taylor swift bashing thread.

This can’t be real. 🤣🤣🤣

I sincerely hope it isn't as surely no one is quite that snooker loopy.

But I can see why the poor woman needs a huge security detail if she has a tide of aggrieved mothers chasing her down because little Annabel hasn't seen a wedding dress within a suitable time frame.

Didimum · 19/07/2026 23:40

If they’d had a very private, small wedding I’d tend to disagree with you, but given it was a MSG, multi-celeb mega bash complete with public billboards, I would have to agree with you from the perspective of her fans (of which I am not one, however).

Hard to tell these days the many ways parents fail their kids it would not surprise me if this was one of them

Exactly. There's a whole roster of people who didn't bend to my whims when I was 10. Santa, my parents, Jordan from New Kids on the Block, my piano teacher, R in my class at school etc etc. I survived.

Well, I hope they are all chipping into your therapy bill, every one of them.

notacooldad · 19/07/2026 23:27

That's not fair imho on your average young girl. Life is full of enough disappointments without learning at age 10 that your idol dgaf about you!
So much drama!
These 10 year old kids will be fine!

I thought her fans were mainly in their late 20s. early 30s not little kids.

Mid thirties and their kids.

GallopingConsumption · 19/07/2026 21:20

Well she's set up fans for expectation and disappointment by releasing photos of the proposal and then after the wedding just...nothing. That's not fair imho on your average young girl. Life is full of enough disappointments without learning at age 10 that your idol dgaf about you!

Seriously? Are you a ten year old girl?

murasaki · 19/07/2026 23:21

I find it most peculiar that because someone bought a t shirt a gig ticket, silly hat and some tacky bracelets, that someone else therefore owes them complete access to their life. It's not a fair trade now, is it. Fascinating to see that people do believe that though.

Um, little kids have always idolized celebrities. That is not something parents can simply prevent by issuing a stern household ban on admiration. Of course parents should manage expectations, but pretending Taylor bears zero responsibility for a parasocial bond she has spent decades deliberately cultivating and monetizing is absurd. She sells intimacy as part of the product, rewards obsessive attention, turns personal milestones into public lore, and encourages fans to feel personally included. Then, when children respond exactly as intended, suddenly it is entirely their fault and their parents’ fault? Please. She cannot profit from creating that level of emotional investment and then wash her hands of it the second it becomes inconvenient.

Turns out she can when it comes to keeping a bit of her life private. Or whenever she wants.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/07/2026 23:14

has she got a mag deal like ok so will be out this week ?

So what do you think she should do? Share wedding photos she might not want to share because kids have decided she owes them? Or are you looking for an official statement saying 'i want to keep my day private'?

pinck · 19/07/2026 22:59

murasaki · 19/07/2026 22:55

And if they buy into that entirely cynical marketing ploy, that's on them. And on their parents to manage their expectations. Not on her.

That’s literally Taylor Swift’s entire business model and a huge part of why she’s a billionaire. She markets herself as the relatable everygirl, encourages fans to treat her life like an ongoing group chat and positions herself as someone little girls should adore, decode, and emotionally invest in. Then the second those same fans expect one wedding photo, suddenly everyone starts clutching pearls about parasocial entitlement and blaming the parents. Like, this is exactly what she wants. You do not spend twenty years monetizing intimacy, rewarding obsessive attention, planting clues, and turning your private life into communal lore only to act baffled when the audience feels personally invested. She built that machine brick by brick. Pretending the fans invented the relationship entirely on their own is absurd.

Has she acted baffled? Can you point me to a source as I cant find one of her speaking on this.
Also can you explain to me how someone feeling personally invested in someone's life, means they are entitled to feel disappointed by someone not giving them what they want, seems like we teach young women the opposite of that when it comes to boys and consent, so im interested as to why the rules differ because its a famous person they dont personally know?
