Neighbours having a karaoke party

The neighbours directly behind us have been having a karaoke party since about 6pm. It’s been fine up until now, and it’s suddenly ramped up a notch and they’re drunkenly screaming. We can hear it with the window closed, but it’s too hot to have the window closed anyway!

My partner has just had surgery and we both hoped to get some decent sleep tonight but it’s not going to happen now, is it?!

Every so often the microphone screeches with feedback too. AIBU to go around and say something?

I really don’t think midnight is unreasonable in a Saturday night, and the standard of the singing is a bit irrelevant!

It’s still going. My SIL has offered to bring us earplugs because she’s awake as she’s breastfeeding but I feel awful asking that of her. I just wish people could be a little more conscientious of others

I don’t think the police would be able to help as there’s quite a visible campaign on social media about a missing lady that’s critically unwell, so they’re probably all tied up with that. It’s just doing my head in

Still worth a call though, you never know, if there's a unit nearby, they may well respond.

the more they drink the louder it will get, it’s horrendous. This is another reason to hate the summer. Try to switch off OP difficult i know.

I’m not saying it’s right - but I don’t blame them - who tells their neighbours to quieten their gathering down at 11pm on a Saturday night?

People who want to sleep? It’s not just sitting outside talking, it’s drunken screaming down a microphone which is amplifying it massively. I’d estimate that from my bedroom window to where the party seems to be is at least 100m, if not 150, and it sounds like they’re inside our room

Take it inside when people start asking you to be quiet? I’ve heard three or four people yelling out now. And each time they’ve turned the microphone louder and shouted down it. That’s antisocial.

🤣 not sure, but I definitely heard Alanis Moristte Ironic a while ago. Now it's tuna tuner! They're teenagers! It's an odd music selection, we've had rave, African, 90s.

It’s pretty impossible to calm down when you’re running on about six hours of sleep over the last two days because your partner has had surgery and has been in a lot of pain!

Now they’re setting off the dogs because they’re that loud (not our dogs). People are shouting at them but it’s just making them laugh and turn the music up. I don’t really know if it’s worth me going down? It’s just unacceptable really

If it goes beyond midnight then I'd go round early in the morning and mention it to them.

About a month ago a house a couple of streets away had a party and they were all outside murdering 'Mr brightside' so I get how disturbing it can be.
