Absolutely ridiculous. Either a total ban or not at all. People will now totally ignore it, including me.
My grandkids are not missing out simply because we all work for a living.

What about the disabled people or people with disabled kids that also work?

Not all disabled people have the same needs.

A hp is much easier to use than a watering can.

The reports actually said no one grudged it to those with disabilities, but that it wasn't fair someone on benefits who had 3 or more kids (and no one in the family with disabilities) should be allowed to fill a paddling pool while those who wer working and not on benefits couldn't.

On this basis I shall continue to water my lawn and my pollinators - my resident daughter is both a PIP recipient and a blue badge holder so we are exempt. I wasn’t going to make use of her exemption but, given my DH pays a six figure tax sum every year to subsidise all those benefits, spent a fortune in money and all his leisure time for years building and maintaining our garden, I am now of the fuck’em mindset.

If she’s got a blue badge she’d likely be exempt and able to go on the priority services register.

You’re all genuinely thick. People on the watersure scheme have physical disabilities requiring more water eg. Stomas, incontinence etc. if you’re genuinely begrudging them being allowed to water their plants (unable to carry watering cans) or cleaning wheelchair wheels down before entering their home, you’re awful.

My water company is asking us to think carefully about the amount we use (ie use less) and to try not to waste water. We have also been sent suggestions about reusing greywater, not running the tap for ages and other avoidable things.
