AIBU to ask whether the death penalty should apply for certain crimes in the UK?

Because the topics got mixed up on my previous thread i thought id ask here, for certain types of crime in the uk, would you be either for or against the death penalty for certain crimes and why ?

It’s not miscarriages of justice for me.

I am just fundamentally opposed to the state having the right to murder its citizens.

Against under any and all circumstances.

There is no moral justification for it. The State insists killing people is a criminal act, so it can not maintain credibility if it returns to killing people as a form of punishment.

International Law gives people a right to life. Capital punishment is the preserve of tinpot and backward nations run by demagogues who can not deal with sociological issues, and therefore resort to executing people deemed problematic. No serious nation should be contemplating returning to it.

I think people who likely won't ever be released should have the option of euthanasia if they have mental capacity.
