Because the topics got mixed up on my previous thread i thought id ask here, for certain types of crime in the uk, would you be either for or against the death penalty for certain crimes and why ?

That's the old testament where bunch of weirdos wrote that you should literally kill your first born child as a human sacrifice.

The new testament isn't quite as horrific, at least In Matthew there's the whole eye for an eye /turn the other cheek... Also where Jesus topping the stoning of a. Woman etc...

i forgot humanity changes the religion to suit modern times, no wonder no one will get to the pearly gates, because when or if they meet god then he will be what happened to my teachings and not the humans own versions

The Jesus in the bible is fictional. He may have been inspired by an actual person, but the character and writing are fiction. No one can part the Red Sea, rise from the dead, or turn water into wine.

Regardless, he did not support the death penalty.

there was one other possibility for those who think they should be rehabilited and given a chance at life, have specialist military units that have high risk missions and base them at bases abroad and then train them for those missions ?

"Certain crimes" means, of course, "crimes I particularly dislike" and "crimes committed by the sort of people I don't like."

no but it is makeing them into a better and more useful asset for the greater good of society and the country and the criminals are then repaying their sins for sinning to begin with by doing the greater good for their country

You rehabilitate people by giving them proper access to education, counselling, work opportunities, and health care, like the Norwegian prison system mentioned, not by holding them overseas as slave labour and cannon fodder.

One system creates useful, balanced members of society. The other one creates mentally unstable killing machines, hence being the plotline for multiple action and horror movies.

well they could be, after all fiction uses fictional technology, then society copies and designs it , so in some ways we do use fiction for ideas
