To be upset my dd is dating a middle aged man

She dating a 30 year old he’s 30 late July and she’s 22 23 one Tuesday. He’s middle aged and she’s still so young

DH was 29 when we met, I was 19 and my Mum was less than impressed I have to say. I was a young 19, he was running his own business and had his own house. She felt that I'd miss out on certain experiences by going out with someone who'd already done what I hadn't.

She was entirely right, I so wish I'd listened.

You were 4 years younger than this woman is. That’s half the age gap again!

What the hell are you talking about? I’m 30 and not middle aged. He’s 29 for gods sake. I can’t tell whether this is rage bait or you need to get a grip. That is not a big age gap at all.

I love that you've enquired after when his birthday is so you know exactly how outraged to be. I;m surprising you're only going with 'middle-aged'. I mean, he's 29, going on 30. He's nearly ready for his OAP free travel pass. She'll be pushing him around in a bath chair in a year.

He is very much not middle aged… he is 7 years older than her. While it’s pushing it because she’s very young it’s also a perfectly acceptable age gap.

Do most people die at 60 around your way?

I was 20 with a 26 year old, we’re now married with 2 kids and very happy… it really isn’t a big gap when you’re in your 20s!

7 years between myself and my wife. Seems fine to me as long as he is treating her right 😊

I had to reread the post as I thought it said 30 years older! 22/29 is a perfectly normal age gap, OH and I have a 9 year gap with no problems, after 52 years of marriage.
