AIBU to let my children use all inclusive on a group holiday?

I’d just say no absolutely not, not my fault you didn’t book. Then I’d separate and distance ourselves for the remainder of the holiday and enjoy it

It does indeed suck to be them and their kids, but you have paid for your children to be able to hydrate, snack and cool down without anyone having to think about it. They haven't.

I'd tell my bil that his request is understandable but unreasonable, and he needs to help his children understand that money doesn't grow on trees.

Hotels are very strict when it comes to stealing (or at least the better ones are), and while undoubtedly some guests do get away with it, it isn’t a risk OP is willing or obliged to take.

The BIL chose not to pay for AI, and that’s on him. If he was so morally opposed to the tourist industry, and the hotel charging ridiculous amounts for slushies and bottled water (not that it sounds like this hotel is partially outrageous when it comes to pricing, not in regards to water anyway), you’d think he’d have refrained from the holiday in the first place.

You have paid for it, it is not free. Use it, don't waste it. It is very unreasonable to expect you to forfeit it.

@TrainyWainy I meant the BIL went self catering so he paid quite a lot less for the booking, turns out it's not been a good choice if the hotel drinks and snacks for his DC are pretty expensive

Hotels often let people upgrade while there to AI, so why don't they? If it's a money issue, they can't expect others not to use what you've paid for already.

I would:
Say to BIL “I can see the problem if your kids are clamouring. Maybe stock up your fridge from the supermarket ?”
Limit the number of slushies the kids have as it often causes diarrhoea from the ingredients
Keep up the bottled water
Expect the novelty of ‘have as much as you like’ to wear off soon so fewer occasions when your kids are having a 3rd ice cream in front of their cousins

I can't believe you even have to ask this.
You paid for AI so your kids can use it to get as many drinks as they want and for you all to have whichever meals you want in the hotel.
They didn't want to fork out the extra money and these are the consequences of this. They should have thought about this before.
