AIBU to let my children use all inclusive on a group holiday?

They realized they made a mistake but instead of paying (quite literally) for that or just dealing with it they chose to take it out on you for whatever reason. YANBU, your kids use what was paid for, if someone else decided to opt out its on them, not you!

I agree, the quality of the food and drink used at these AI resorts is normally such low quality anyway. Ive been to resorts where the bar staff have given my DS a AI wristband so he can get ice creams and drinks all day 🤣

What a self entitled so and so. You are your own people and you chose the sensible option. Do not limit your kids or yourselves. Your BIL needs to sort his own issues out. What a thing to ask.

Are they generally a bit dim or just very entitled? Surely they understand that you’ve paid for A.I and have basically pre-paid for your meals, but they haven’t. I would honestly tell them to piss off and stop being so ridiculous. No way would I stop my kids eating something that I’d paid for.

The best bit about AI with teens is so that can get what they want to eat and drink whenever they want. I much prefer paying up front for the convenience alone!

No one would be telling me what my children can and can’t use especially if I’ve already paid for it. It’s not a you problem it’s a them problem and I’d say you were being unreasonable to even consider limiting your own children to benefit others. Your children are there to enjoy the services provided for them as are you because you paid for them and rightly so. I’d be sending my child to get what ever they wanted frequently just for this. My family would never ask me to stop using something to benefit them.

That’s a bit like telling your kids to it is OK to go back into the supermarket and shoplift sweets and toys for their friends because you have just done a huge family shop there.

To put this in another form of context, I’ve booked a holiday for myself and my children, and my mum has booked the same holiday for her and my nan to join us. I am in the family area of the hotel, and they are in the adults only area. Most things all of us can use, but some things - one of the restaurants, a food truck, two pools and an exclusive bar are adult only so I don’t have access to them. There was a significant price difference.

If I was to tell my mum and nan that it was unfair for them to access these facilities because I as an adult also on holiday there can’t.. would that be reasonable? No lol

Your BIL is being a knob, let your kids enjoy all the snack and icecream and drinks that you’ve paid for. It’s their holiday too, and their holiday stomachs have prepared for this 😉
