If a friend who lives close to you is having a birthday party close by, and your other friends are coming too, but they live a 45 minute drive away, would you offer to go and pick them up and give them a lift to the party?

HelloCheekyCat · 11/07/2026 10:43

Not a chance
If it was on your way of slightly out of your way maybe but not when t he party is close to you

FinallyMovingHouse · 11/07/2026 10:39

Nope

Error404FucksNotFound · 11/07/2026 10:39

No.

Mum2Fergus · 11/07/2026 10:38

No. I assume they are adults capable of making their own travel arrangements.

DozyCrow · 11/07/2026 10:38

If they were 10 or 15 minutes I might, but not 45 minutes. They can club together and get a cab if public transport isn't an option.

NoTouch · 11/07/2026 10:36

If we had a history of doing similar favours for each other yes. Otherwise no.

lulubalu · 11/07/2026 10:36

1.5 hour round trip would be a hard no from me and I don't usually mind giving lifts

redskyAtNigh · 11/07/2026 10:36

A 45 minute drive away - so 1.5 hours round trip? no, far too far for a casual favour; I'd only do that if they had gone above and beyond for me in the past and had no other sensible option.

I'd probably offer that they could stay overnight so they didn't have to make their way home after the party though.

ColdAsAWitches · 11/07/2026 10:36

No. Why would you?

happidayss · 11/07/2026 10:35

No. Why would you? I’ve never expected a lift if I live further away. Grown ups can get themselves to things.

Candleabra · 11/07/2026 10:35

I assume they’ve asked you to pick them up. A 1.5 hr round trip completely out of your way? Absolutely not.

Livpool · 11/07/2026 10:34

I don’t even drive but no! I have gotten texts that far before - just one of those things for them.

GordanoServices · 11/07/2026 10:34

No.

ScrambledEggs12 · 11/07/2026 10:33

No, I'd walk so I could have a drink.
