The Conservatives have lost a lot of voters to Reform but if they can win those voters back they should be in with a good chance to beat Reform in the proper by-election

Appealing to Reform voters does not work, both for Labour and Conservatives.

Yes I said that and agree. I also think it’s just an over index on a few posters. If anyone wants to track whether Farage will be successful it’s far more useful to watch the electorate’s reaction to Burnham over Starmer.

That’s far more relevant than any poster on here. Starmer drove up Farage’s popularity, whether Burnham turns it around we’ll see.

I would have had to do a tactical vote anyway as I would have had to go with whoever was most likely to beat Farage.
My vote will very much be an anti-farage / protest vote so Binface works well for me, and as a bonus, I either agree with or find his policies funny so why not.
Social media full of ranting from both sides here and lots of people trying to influence from outside the area. I do fear that might make people dig their heels in but you never know it might increase awareness of what a slimey toad he is.
Normal life carries on though so no big difference. Unfortunately I think Farage might actually visit the area for once

Its odd having this much attention. Not everyone here does support farage so I am hoping it stirs up enough emotion in those people, to turn up and vote against him.
However, there are a lot of people here who back him 100% and wont listen to any other argument.

Am so sorry you have all been put in this position. You deserve better and ideally something that actually looks like a democratic choice with at least other viable candidate. That would probably need to be a right of centre one.

Didn’t think it could get any worse than in Makerfield with the local constituents being used in such a blatantly self-serving manner by both Burnham and the Labour party. But they voted him in any way.

And we were promised £350 million a week for the NHS. He never actually magicked that up!

He campaigned for that on the basis that it would improve people's lives, though. He didn't tell people that leaving the EU would make European travel more difficult, make business harder to conduct with the EU, make products more expensive and harder to obtain, make it harder to control immigration from outside Europe. No, it was all about sovereignty and freedom and money being freed up for the NHS.

Oh, and he had scant regard for rules then, too

But what really matters is if that polling reflects Clacton and not just the wider country’s views. And, of course, whether those people will go out and vote. Preferably for Binface (who I think would make a decent politician!)

What is needed is an extremely high turnout. Farage supporters will likely all go out to vote and so it’s those who don’t usually vote who actually hold the power - even if they don’t use it because, ironically, they usually think it is pointless. This by-election could change British politics and I hope they realise that and go out in force.

I don’t need to justify my sense of her to you or anyone. She has increasingly impressed me over the last few years and her stance on women and children, being science-based, and her cool demeanour on fighting antisemitism has shown backbone.

Oh come on. Like you're going to be receptive to other people's opinions when that's how to ask the question.

My points have been that Farage in what he set out to do has been successful - we are no longer part of the EU, he has changed British politics

And that how he has been dealt with in the last 15 or so years and how his supporters have been spoken about, patronised etc has played into his success

I have not in any of my posts ever said that this has been good for the country

I live in clacton. I hereby declare that I have never, and never will, vote for farage. I am sorry about everyone else.

I’m Lib Dem, always have been and as long as my MP is here I will be. She’s been brilliant for our local area and represents so many local causes in a really brilliant way.

But like I said, if it’s to stop Farage, I will vote Tory if needed.

Am a floating voter, though have never voted Labour (to be fair Labour has always been a wasted vote in my area). I usually flip lop around the centre line depending on the issue.

Kemi is the only grown up in the room at the moment and the one politician I’d be happy to represent us on the world stage.
