I told my friend about my crush on Postman Pat and she suggested he was gay. AIBU or is she?

I confessed to a friend that I had a bit of a crush on Postman Pat. He’s not the most conventionally attractive man, but he has a calming way about him, and is clearly a capable problem solver and provider. He’ll also have a good public sector pension, and security is a big plus for me.

I mentioned this to a friend and she said I had “no chance”. She said Pat was a middle-aged single man with a cat, and I should “read between the lines”.

AIBU or is my friend just jealous?

When I was 5, and I'm 61 now, I was SO IN LOVE with Scott from Thunderbirds!

I thought he was the most gorgeous man EVER, and I wanted desperately to marry him!

I worried myself silly about him when he got into dangerous situations, cried for him, everything!

Then one day I saw a wire attached to him and realised he's a puppet!

I still have a crush on him to this day!

Still though...now you know you can't take this any further, you have to forget about this crush. You would get hell on here if you put yourself out to him, think about his poor wife and child for goodness sake. You dont want to be that woman!!!

Slightly off topic, but I love Postman Pat's Birthday episode where he and Miss Hubbard drink 'Fruit juice' together, and she gets hiccups and goes all giggly.

For what it's worth, I've always believed Miss Hubbard to be lesbian, but never Mrs Goggins as some seem to think.

Roger and Titty Altounyan were real people and those were their names (a nickname in Titty's case). It's not Arthur Ransome dealing in innuendo.

Yeah, I didn't think it was innuendo at the time it was written, though I didn't realise they were real people.

Her name was changed to "Tatty" for the recentish film.

I saw a mention of He Man but surely Skeletor outshines him. He’s a bit gaunt in the face but well built in other areas and has real bad boy vibes. Not sure I could live in Snake Mountain though.

“ Gaunt” ? I prefer “Chiselled” . He’s certainly got good bone structure and an impressive physique. He wouldn’t have any difficulties taking the bins out.
