To ask about totally inappropriate behaviour at wedding?

Was at a seemingly lovely wedding at the weekend. Beautiful setting and lovely ceremony.

One of my friends was chief bridesmaid and she had put so much effort into making the day perfect for the happy couple. But she started to drink a lot after the ceremony and by the end of dinner she was very tipsy and all over the singer from the wedding band. They had been playing some acoustic songs throughout the day and she kept making requests. It was obvious she fancied him.

Later on, one of the other guys from the band was lovely and asked if I had seen their singer because they were setting up for their evening set. I mentioned that my friend was also missing so went to look for them together. We joked that maybe they had eloped or something.

But nothing prepared me for what I was about to witness. Behind the outdoor toilets, my friend was down on her knees giving the singer from the band oral. I was mortified and the other guy from the band told me his friend had done this a few times. We are not even sure if they seen us and I’ve been too embarrassed to bring it up with my friend.

On the up side, the other guy from the band was really sweet and we danced a bit later that night and swapped numbers.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever witnessed at a wedding?

Conclusion: my family (myself included) and friends are boring. Nothing like this has ever happened at a wedding I’ve been at.

Urgh how minging

and unprofessional of the band member

Band members are not accountants! Surely sex and drugs and rock and roll is part of their profession?

Blogswife · 06/07/2026 15:26

That’s quite funny and no harm done ! Every wedding has a drama, if this is the worst it gets then the bride & groom got away lightly !

The night before the wedding, in the local pub with friends and family, the groom's mother got very drunk and repeatedly said he should have stayed with his ex (pure snobbery as ex was an Earl's daughter) and how the bride to be wasn't good enough for him. She became so insulting and obnoxious that her nephew (big lad) picked her up and threw her over his shoulder and took her home. The day of the wedding she didn't attend due to a "migraine".

MarilynMerlot · 06/07/2026 15:22

Personally think it's a bit tacky, but there's so much worse out there at other people's weddings!

Was once at a wedding where there were a bunch of class A drug-fuelled fights, the police were called to an upstairs room at the hotel where it was really kicking off and an unconscious - and much older - guy who'd OD'd (didn't die) was found in bed with a guest's 16 year old boy. Absolute carnage.

Edited to add that nothing untoward had happened to the boy, thank God.

...and then Hugh Grant caught the bouquet 💐

MageKing · 06/07/2026 15:21

I mean it's pretty gross - who wants to give someone a BJ arond the back of the portaloos? - but it's not that big a deal. And it would definitely land in the "remember that time Mary shagged the lead singer at Penelope's wedding. hahahahaha" territory.

This reminds me of Green Eggs and Ham

I wouldn’t ride him on his cock
I wouldn’t ride him on a dock
I could not ride him with a sock
I could not ride him in a frock
I could not ride that wedding jock…

Laughing WAY too hard now!

In what way was it totally inappropriate? Surely people hook up at weddings? She didn't create a scene or do anything publicly. She didn't miss any of her bridesmaid duties. She had a bit of fun, perhaps a bit too much, hardly anything to be so shocked about.

Behind the outdoor toilets? Classy I don't think.

Two single people get it on at a wedding. Shock and awe.

Comtesse · 06/07/2026 15:13

One of the female guests got smashed and started a huge screaming row with her now ex after banging on lots of hotel doors at 5am. Taken away in handcuffs at 6am. That was quite the scandal….

What did I miss? (seriously, you have seen something I missed - not meant as rude)

Chatgpt

No. The post doesn't say whether either of the people involved—the chief bridesmaid or the singer—is:

  • Married
  • In a relationship ("attached")
  • Single
It only describes their behavior at the wedding. The only additional detail about the singer is that another band member says he'd "done this a few times," which suggests a pattern of hooking up at weddings, but it doesn't indicate his relationship status. So based on the text alone, you can't infer whether either person was single or in a relationship.
Edited

Which shows why asking chat gpt instead of using your own brain leads to stupidity. Read the original comment again, carefully.

TheBlueKoala · 06/07/2026 15:09

@Notallthatx I might be an outlier but if the friend was single I would have thought this hilarious. Well, no actually considering a blow job is more prostitute action since she doesn't get anything from it. But I would have laughed if I had found them shagging. I'm such a prude so I live through other people's wild acts .

So it was riding a cock on a dock? Sounds like jolly good fun either way.

pontipinemum · 06/07/2026 15:06

@NowSober @parthyphibday In Ireland sex is sometimes called 'getting the ride' - not sure where @momtoboys is from but it might be the same

Bubblebathbefore8 · 06/07/2026 15:05

Anyone else humming “sitting in the dock of the bay?”

AndrewPreview · 06/07/2026 15:04

Similar, except it was a married guest and a work colleague. Both worked with the groom. One of the (thankfully) adult bridesmaids walked in on them in the ladies loos.

The husband was also in attendance and somehow blissfully unaware.

Yes, it was my wedding.

Could of been a wedding near a harbour 🙈

the wildest thing I have seen is the MOH actually getting a ride on a dock with a married guest in broad daylight

Is this gibberish or have I led a sheltered life not to know what is a "ride on dock" or an MOH?

Maid of Honour + sex (ride on a dick) with a married guest?

Maid of Honour + sex (ride) on a dock (pier) with a married guest?
