New DP overreacting?!!

I grew up with two brothers and have had a few ex’s, all were not shy at all about breaking wind around me. New DP - together about 2 months. I decided I wasn’t going to keep holding it in for ever so let one go in bed last night. He shot up, said how disgusted he was and that women don’t do that and if I did it again he’d dump me?! Is it me or are men absolute hypocrites when it comes to this 😂

Accidental farting can be very funny. Deliberate farting is disgusting.

All the posters saying how disgusting this is are the probably the same ones that think being naked is shameful. Chill the fuck out guys, no one has ever died as a result of being in the proximity of someone farting, although from these responses you'd think it happened every time.

Does he fart around you? He is only a hypocrite if he does. If he doesnt fart around you and has asked you not to fart around him that seems fairly reasonable- presumably you have a bathroom you can go to as you would if you were at work/in a public place?

I genuinely don’t understand the absolute pearl clutching about farting.

Would I do it at work? No. But I’m not going to sit at home uncomfortable with wind.

I don't think it's hypocrisy - he's a different adult to the others - his (& my) standard is the same for both.
No adult should intentionally fart in front of others. Occasional inadvertent ones happen to everyone.

I would break up with a partner who thought that intentional farting was acceptable as well.
In 3-10yr+ relationships, neither of us have ever done this.

That is disgusting behaviour. It's one thing if it's an accident but to do it on purpose shows real lack of respect for the other person.

True the men i know are decent we all do it, but not on purpose.
I expect it from babies and little children they cant help it, but a grown adult can go else where to do it.

Its a normal thing to do but there is a time and a place, i live alone so have no cares.
However i would never lift my leg and let one rip in front of anyone.

My mother was like it, (and many others in the family) it was shamfull and disgusting, no matter where she was or who was there she would let it go and think it was funny.

It dont mattter if you have brothers or not op have some respect for yourself.
