Haven't seen DH in clothes since Monday

My husband doesn't like the heat which means that for every day this week during the heatwave, we made an agreement that I'll been the one doing errands, nipping to the shops, and doing both morning and afternoon school runs. In return, he will ensure chores are done and cook dinner.

He works from home so therefore has had no need to leave the house.

Except, he's spent nearly a week walking around in just a pair of pants. No other clothing. He at least changes those pants daily (and sometimes twice a day), but I have not seen a t shirt on him all week nor a pair of shorts. I can't remember the last time he wore a pair of trousers.

I get that it's hot but i'm sick of the sight of his bare chest and legs. He is also bald so he looks like a giant newborn wearing a nappy.

He has somehow managed to do every work Teams call this week with the camera off.

We've also had quite a few deliveries this weekend, largely his, which I've had to run and open because he runs and hides from the window (while giggling) in case they clock he's only wearing pants.

I've asked him to put clothes on but it's fallen on deaf ears.

It's only 23 degrees today, AIBU to insist he puts some clothes on?

True enough. When you live with someone though, compromises have to be made.

It's not as if she hasn't seen it all before though! She's not just a roommate, she's his wife, so why shouldn't he wander around the house in the bare minimum? It's bloody hot! She sounds like a real joy hoover....

I love seeing my partner naked or in boxers, fancy him SO much and we have loads of sex. I still wouldn’t want to see him without a top on all week. Clothes look sexy. Keep the mystery. Add variety.

My other half is like this the minute the weather heats up he can’t bare it. His daughter and my daughter are like oh here he goes but he is a long haul lorry driver so he basically sleeps in a green house all week and soon as he’s parked up T-shirts off 🙈 their lucky her wears his shorts cause when we don’t have kids there he wears nothing. I don’t even bat an eyelid it’s his house, and if he’s comfortable then that’s then main thing. I’ve been in shorts and a bikini top all week. X

You mean he does bare it

Noooo, hope at least they're not Y fronts!!! Dh calls them budgie smugglers! Briefs are so wrong for adult men IMHO! Each to their own 😂

No, not y fronts. Sort of like these

You could get him a wig so he doesn’t look like a adult size newborn!

Or start calling him Starman.

YABU for agreeing that you do all the running around while he stays cool.
If he’s doing all the chores suggest he fry something on the hob - hot fat should ensure he puts something on, otherwise suggest you strip off too.

Since when was working from home cooking and chores?

Sorry, don't see the problem? He "works from home" otherwise known as chores and cooking? He gets hot, leave him alone he's fine.

"He is also bald so he looks like a giant newborn wearing a nappy." I'm sorry but I laughed out loud! Great description. I wouldn't really care though as long as he's not going outside

Lordemily50 · 04/07/2026 20:10

I think you’ve just realised you don’t fancy your husband anymore!

Miyagi99 · 04/07/2026 20:00

I’ve been wfh naked all week apart from for meetings. Also I’d love it if my partner was naked a bit more, hair or no hair!

Do you mean briefs? I prefer them on guys, boxers are so dull. DH likes me wearing knickers around the house and I like seeing him in his briefs 🩲 🩲 🩲

I think shorts are fine. But these are very much pants. They cannot be disguised as shorts in any way!

yeah I would find it strange wether it’s wrong or not, my kids wouldn’t appreciate me or their dad walking about in pants for a week and I’d appreciate them not doing it either. I feel like it’s bad manners, my boy cousins used to stay when younger and walked about in their pants and it made me uncomfortable. Obviously my partner and son come down in underwear in their pants morning or after a shower and I don’t care but a full week would bother me

I get that. I wouldn’t have walked around scantily clad when my kids were still at home. Now though, it’s just my husband and me.

I was also raised in a family like that, but your reply doesn’t answer my questions. Have a think about it. It sounds like because it was something you were raised not to do, you are assuming that it’s wrong. That isn’t necessarily the case.

Probably because I was brought up in a house where that wasn’t the norm, my mum and dad didn’t do it and I didn’t walk about in pants in front of them either

Can you explain why it would annoy you? Is it rational? Does it really matter? Is it really so bad? You are responsible for your own feelings about wanting to impose your ‘standards’ on others.

MagicalBagPuss · 30/06/2026 16:34

I remember that many years ago a delivery man said "a delightful sight" when I opened the door. I think that my buttons must have come undone or were never done up in the first place. I guess that it's different for a woman.
I would definitely NOT like the sight of my husband putting the bins out in nothing but pants - his dangly bits hang too low even for boxers!

BuildbyNumbere · 30/06/2026 15:53

Ok. Well maybe don’t put it to the test.
