The heat n humidity has certainly affected my appetite.

Today I had a bowl of cereals
lunch - a bag of crisps

I’m not one that appetite gets affected with heat or illness

Had just under 2 litres of water

I’ve raided the discounted Tesco sushi twice this week already as that’s all I really fancy in this weather! That and ice cold rose so it’s probably more calories than usual…

WhiskeySoda · 26/06/2026 22:01

Me, it feels like a waste of my Mounjaro this week tbh.

JaceLancs · 26/06/2026 21:58

Salad and protein all the way here plus staying hydrated hope it helps my diet

No it doesn’t make me lose my appetite in fact I want icecream and ice cold glasses of fizz
more. I never ever lose my appetite. But I’m healthy and not overweight so not that bothered.

Judging · 26/06/2026 21:51

Me too. No appetite. I’ve had half a wrap at lunchtime and 2 glasses of wine this evening. 😬

Parkrun tomorrow should be interesting.

Goldengirl123 · 26/06/2026 21:49

Same here

Rubyslipperswitch · 26/06/2026 20:01

Completely normal.

It is actually better for your body to eat lighter, smaller meals when it is really hot.

Digesting food generates internal body heat which is why your appetite being reduced is one of the ways your body tries to cope with heat.

PartoftheBand · 26/06/2026 19:53

YANBU of course but I've been starving all week as usual, despite the heat!

RonaldMcDonaldTrump · 26/06/2026 19:51

Be careful OP, these threads always attract the competitive under eaters. I think some are already here

TheChosenTwo · 26/06/2026 19:51

Just eat what you want, it’s not unreasonably in any way to not eat if you’re not hungry, presuming you normally eat when it’s not so warm.
weird thread!

Ive had salads for lunch and a proper dinner in the evenings, mostly bbqd meat or fish and more salad. Unfortunately ds will require feeing no matter the weather and the older dc have been around a bit too this week (which has been lovely), we always sit and eat dinner together whoever is home. But people just eat what they want, last night I had a small piece of steak and some rocket and some tomato and red onion salad. Was enough but not as much as I’d usually eat.
My appetite wanes a little in the summer, how could this be unreasonable?

Crystallllll · 26/06/2026 19:43

I think that’s pretty normal? Or this another competitive under eating thread.

PurpleCoo · 26/06/2026 18:50

I can't eat when it's over about 25-26c. It's always been the case.

Yesterday, other than a smoothie for lunch I didn't eat until nearly 10pm, and even then I forced myself as I knew I needed to eat something.

I was hungry at lunchtime, but I had done almost 4 hours of exercise this morning, and was feeling a little bit woozy. I managed 6 gyoza and enjoyed them. I also managed a few nuts and grapes. I suspect I will eat before 10pm tonight!!

I am sure I will be ravenous when the temperature drops to highs in the low 20s next week

steff13 · 26/06/2026 18:25

Has someone suggested you should be eating more?

Wallabies232 · 26/06/2026 18:23

You are not being unreasonable… but then you wouldn’t be unreasonable if you had an absolutely huge appetite like me. I’m hungrier than ever in this weather. Roaming around the house like a Pac-Man, eating everything in sight. It’s fine, who cares OP?

mynameiscalypso · 26/06/2026 18:17

I eat more in the heat. My appetite always likes to be perverse. I’m not having hot food but lots of bread/cheese/cold meats/salad etc.

5128gap · 26/06/2026 18:05

Unfortunately not. Appetite the same as usual plus extra desire to eat because its too hot for my normal activities so I'm bored. Not helped by the fact we've had cold buffet style meals all week and I always over eat because I want some of everything.

salamiSandwiches · 26/06/2026 18:01

Same - all I had for a week now is fruit salad for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch and cheese and egg salad for dinner 😂

Tink3rbell30 · 26/06/2026 17:58

Very normal. Don't know how anyone can shovel loads of hot food down on a hot day.

NerdyBird · 26/06/2026 17:46

I’ve been having breakfast (sometimes fairly late) and then just snacks really, it’s too hot and too much effort to do proper meals.

HelpMeGetThrough · 26/06/2026 16:32

I’ve had zero appetite in this heat. Just had my tea this week, which has been a sandwich.

Not had anything food wise so far today. The ice cold beer I’m drinking at the moment is going down well and so will a few more. A liquid lunch is working well.

zingally · 26/06/2026 16:31

No appetite for dinner the last couple of days. Last night, it got to almost 10pm and I wasn't really hungry. Debated making a round of toast, but just couldn't be bothered, so had a banana.
Drinking a lot more though, including large iced coffees, which I wouldn't normally have, so that's probably filling me up a bit.

herewegoagainonwednesday · 26/06/2026 16:24

1.5 kg down since monday, and I drink loads. Only benefit of this heat!

concertinacornflake · 26/06/2026 16:18

This is very normal.
Then sticky toffee pudding in winter.

Snippit · 26/06/2026 16:18

Same here, bought some bowls of Greek salad in anticipation for this weather, along with olives and meats. Nothing like a meze in this heat 🤗

BacksToTheFuture · 26/06/2026 16:17

What a funny question, how could that possibly be unreasonable? Are you going to force feed yourself if any says you are 😂
