AIBU to question Snag Tights using very plus-size models?

Because somebody very small will be able to find tights to fit them somewhere (and snag also have images of very small sized models). Somebody larger won't - and after many years of the generic XL sometimes being size 10, sometimes 14 and sometimes 16 only if one is under 5 foot tall - or with a rise that barely covers the hip bones - it's useful to be able to see straight away that a pair of tights in the particular size won't stop below the section overhang and cause blistering, but will go over a larger abdomen. It's also useful for the many MNetters who have a leg length in the top 1% of the population (those who describe having an inside leg of 38" when they're 5 foot 6, for example) as they'll be able somebody 6 foot tall is able to wear them.

It's fine when you can just click on something based upon an image of model squatting as though she's been caught short at a festival or through forced perspective has feet the size of a wheelie bin and still know without a doubt that it will fit - but that's not the case for many, many people.

I want to see the clothing modeled on bodies of the sizes offered. Brands that do this get my business.

Brands that are size inclusive and not just in a we scale up the pattern without rethinking proportions will continue to get my business, even as I lose weight with WLI. I have rebought some
of my favorite items in smaller sizes from the same companies that made the effort to make me clothing that actually fit when I had fewer choices. I’m not buying much because I am continuing to lose weight, but they will continue to have my loyalty at any size.

So a larger woman shouldn’t be allowed to see what their products look like on a body like hers. Got it.

They shouldn't be allowed outside at all. We wouldn't want the rest of the world to be subjected to them.

Their sizing starts at a UK 4. But in MN land where "we've lost sight of what a healthy weight is", size 4 is positively gargantuan.

I don't mind seeing males modelling their tights either, as long as it isn't the kink stuff. They have one guy who wears their tights with kilts when he's LARPing. What's wrong with that? If men want to wear tights, they should go for it.

Im short and fat. After MN promised me that Better tights would be fine and would fit i bought a pair. They are about 6 inches too long. So I'll stick with snag.

I couldn’t give a shit what size the women they have modelling are providing they’re actually women. Which snag seem to get confused about.

Do morbidly obese women have to buy their tights from the back of a dodgy vape shop just in case the sight of them offends someone? What size of women would you find acceptable in adverts?

You need to revise your book collection. What people face due to their race is entirely different to what people face due to their size. Historically and present day.

I'm not keen on the kink stuff, but their tights are great. I've looked at Better Tights - they just don't have the range of colours and patterns that Snag do. I'm tall as well as fat, and since discovering Snag I'm actually comfortable in tights. I also like the fact that they use wheelchair users as models.

Well Snag did a whole thing where they sold patches that said "choke me", and when a number of women (including victims of DV) said that this was inappropriate, Snag labelled them kink-shaming bullies.

So the problem is that they accurately showcase what their items look like in the corresponding sizes… Righto.

There are fat people in the world and the UK. Simple as that.
